Make sure the area is clear, Stay clear of drop area.



Safety shoes, safety glasses, Hard-Hat, gloves.

Falling, Pinch point, Dropped Object.

Break out bonnet bolts with hammer wrench and hammer or impact wrench if available. Fully back out bonnet bolts.

Struck by or caught between moving equipment. Or when lifting rams.



Clear personnel from platforms when opening bonnets.. Correct body position. Clear signals to winch operator. Proper tools: Sledge Hammer,

Remove lifting eyes from “ rams and install onto ” rams. Inspect bonnet seals, replace if needed. Lift into place and install dual rams into position with winch. Remove winch and lifting eyes from rams, apply small amount of grease to ram and bonnet seals to prevent damage when closing bonnets. Ensure rams are seated level.

Men to clear from work platforms, but monitor when closing bonnets. Slowly move UPR 4-way valve to open position, till rams retract to bonnet body and bonnets close completely. Leave 4-way valve in open position, wind in bonnet bolts and hammer up. Clear work area of tools.



Damage to rams or bonnets. Falling, struck by hammer.
