ABOU SHAKRA CASE STUDY STUDENT ID: 12028 Q1) Describe Abou Shakra in terms of the value it provides for customers.



ANSWER 1: By reading the case study, we can identify that Abou Shakra has maintained its original marketing orientation which means it is a product-oriented company. Their main focus is to provide good services to their customer. They believe that if the quality is good and customers are satisfied then location and advertising does not matter and it would not be their priority. They mainly focus on increasing the value of their product by continuously increasing the benefits of their clients while keeping the customer’s costs at a favorable constant. Q2) Do you think Abou Shakra should develop a high-growth strategy? Why or why not? 1-20 Should Abou Shakra spend more on advertising than what is currently expended?



ANSWER 2: Every business needs to grow, so that Abou Shakra. In my opinion, yes, they should use high-growth strategy. While, Abou Shakra is running the business by only being concerned about its customer’s satisfaction since years and Abou Shakra has successfully managed to collect good amount of profit by only following its existing strategy. Also, they have kept low budget for advertising as they believe that loyal customers are advertisement itself. But it may last to a certain extent. By the time, taste of customer changes and they may want to see innovations and new taste in their food. When the demand for other cuisine will rise, Abou Shakra may lose its customers. Then, Abou Shakra will have to invest in advertisements and promotions. When the competition in market will arise, Abou Shakra would not be able to compete. They should start planning for expansion and growth. There’s no doubt that location and advertisement would not stop its loyal customer to reach out Abou Shakra but again, to a certain extent. If the customers would move away or in any other situation, they might find an alternative to satisfy their cravings. So yes, they should spend more on advertisement and should also expand as well as open branches on other locations to expand. Q3) Do you think the legacy of Abou Shakra will continue with an increasing number of consumers disposed toward nontraditional cuisine? Why or why not?



ANSWER 3: No, the legacy of Abou Shakra’s will not continue. They need to grow and bring variety of food and innovations in order to fulfill demand of the customers and new entries. This will help them to maintain their restaurant’s reputation. Also, with the time, taste and demand of customers will change and if Abou Shakra would not be able to fulfill demand of old profitable customers, they might lose them as they will find compensation and alternative of Abou Shakra which would have more reputation and varieties of cuisine to offer their customers. Q4) Suggest other methods by which Abou Shakra can provide value to its customers.



ANSWER 4: Abou Shakra has already made a good customer base but they can value customers in many other ways like offering promotional offers, deals and coupons. Also, they should expand and upgrade their menu and should bring new varieties to fulfill their customer’s desire and demands. They can also provide them complimentary drinks and crackers. They can provide them with free Wi-Fi. Other than that, peaceful ambiance can attract more customers. Traditional food with traditional ambiance would work great. There should be play area for children so they can target children also.
