Interstellar Movie: Reflection The world is indeed, the most substantial blue planet in the universe that brings vitality in human race. But in the midst of 21st century, the Earth was being overexploited as humans continuously propagate. Clean air, water, food, and energy sources may possibly run out. No doubt, when everything on Earth is completely exhausted, it can be foreseen in the future that the humanity will face extinction. In order to present what is possible to happen in the future, a movie had been made and directed by Christopher Nolan named Interstellar. In the science fiction movie, it can be clearly seen from the movie that National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are trying to save the humanity from extinction. NASA was headed by Professor Brand who has two different plans for human salvation. First, the Plan A is to transport the remaining humans to a new home somewhere in space. While the Plan B, is to send frozen embryos to a new home and restart the human race there because it is the only chance of survival. Professor Brand had send four volunteers into space, to travel to a wormhole near Saturn. They are about to evaluate three planets namely; the Miller’s, Mann’s and Edmund’s planet who were actually named in three astronauts who never came back. With the Endurance space station, they travel first in Miller’s planet and lose Doyle in a huge wave of sea. They stay there within almost two hours, equivalent to 23 years. Then, they go to Mann’s planet, and lose Roomier. They later try to dock on the station and pulled by gargantuan or black hole. Cooper entered the black hole leaving Amelia. He then saw the fifth dimension before he finally went back to solar system after 51 years and seeing his daughter old enough. The movie is somehow realistic; to the point that it is possible to happen. We humans should realize, as early as possible, that we still have time to reverse what consequences we experience due to our inhumane acts. We should not put in our mind that there are lots of Earthlike planets in the universe. But we should set in our mind rather, that this is like the only planet that will sustain our needs and make us comfortable. The whole story is quite confusing yet, it is heart-melting. The significant time that astronauts spend on space is overwhelming. I cannot imagine how a father like Cooper, seek for a new home to live for rather than living with his child and spending moments together. In his case, 74 years are being spent by him without his children. It is really a bit hard to believe for. Also, some parts of the movie have ruled the laws in physics. Just like Cooper entering the black hole. Based on science, everything that will enter a black hole will turn into pieces. However, it doesn’t come into a serious matter of concern in the film. Luckily, the creativity and the talent of the director unveil when the scene of the fifth dimension is being shown. It is the most hearthtouching in the film because the mystery in the past has been solved in this part. This movie may have been the reason why we realize not only how crucial the Earth really is but also the importance of time. We better save our time to save our planet the same as we save our time spending with our family and love ones. We humans are lucky enough because we live on a planet that sustains everything we need, a blessing from the Sacred Creator, the Mighty Lord. The Interstellar movie had remind us how humans can be the reason why we, ourselves might become extinct.
