2. TOTAL HOUR OF OPERATION The parameter stores the total amount of “actual” working hours of the washing machine. For “actual” work is defined as the real time in which the machine is operating, soaks included. The stand-by time (with door open) is excluded from this counting. 11

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

3. WASHING CYCLE # TOTAL The counter "TOTAL" quantifies the number of washing cycles since the first power of the machine. This counter can‟t be reset. Prior to change the logic board take note about the number of washes counted in this parameter. 4. WASHING CYCLE # PARTIAL The counter “PARTIAL” quantifies the number of washing cycles since the last maintenance call. This counter can be reset by using the parameter “MAINTENANCE REQUEST RESET”. When the "PARTIAL" counter achieves the value set on parameter "N° OF CYCLES FOR MAINTENANCE REQUEST", on the display will appear the alarm "MAINTENANCE REQUEST". 5. ALARM HISTORY It is a register that records the last 50 errors that occurred in the machine. The error is historicized with the date and time when it appeared, also you can appreciate exactly what stage (STEP) of a given program it took place.

ERROR CODE

The list is not cancellable and is updated automatically. The last error in chronological order is described in the first row. The 50th error (older) is canceled as a new error is stored in the first row (newer). 6. ALARM REPORT Register in which it is indicated the number of times a same error is repeated..

The list is not cancellable and is updated automatically 7. MAINTENANCE REQUEST RESET Access to this parameter whenever the alarm n° 14 "MAINTENANCE REQUEST" appears on the screen. To reset the “PARTIAL” counter press the button “OK”. Perform routine maintenance as described in the manuals of the machine.

12

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

8. N° OF CYCLE FOR MAINTENANCE RESET It defines the number of washes within the maintenance is required. Default = 1500 washes. 9. WATER HEATING TYPE It allows to switch from the autonomous heating of the machine (provided by electric heaters or steam injection) to an external source of hot water. The options are: WITH HEATING or HOT WATER. Default = WITH HEATING. If "WITH HEATING" is selected, the machine activates its own heating system to reach the set temperature in the program. If the temperature is not achieved within the time described by the HEATING WDT, the alarm n° 9 "WDT HEATING EXPIRED" will be generated. If "HOT WATER" is selected, the machine will not activate its own heating system, but will use exclusively the hot water supplied from the hydraulic plant in order to reach as close as possible the required temperature. If the temperature is not reached, the machine will continue therefore with the wash without giving any errors. The "HOT WATER" mode bypasses the heating steps present in the programs. Therefore you will not need to modify the washing program to use of this feature. 10. MAX DRUM RPM This parameter defines the maximum number of revolutions per minute (rpm) reached during the fast spin. Default: RC MAX DRUM RPM LM / D2W MAX DRUM RPM 6-8-11 500 Rpm 6-8-11 1000 Rpm 14-18-23 500 Rpm 14-18-23 947 Rpm 30-40 452 Rpm 30 846 Rpm 55 408 Rpm 40-55 802 Rpm 70-85 360 Rpm 70-85 723 Rpm Notwithstanding that the spins can be modified both in the duration and in the maximum speed, the parameter has the only purpose of limiting the maximum speed during the centrifugation step. It will not be necessary to reprogram the individual spins present in the programs because they are all subordinate to this parameter. 11. MINIMUM WATER LEVEL FOR HEATING ABILITATION The purpose of this parameter is to avoid untimely activations of the heating, especially when working at low levels of water. The parameter is relevant especially for electrical machines, where it is necessary to maintain the resistances immersed to avoid their premature breakage. Default = 5 cm. Minimum = 2 cm. The level 5 cm is calculated in vertical from the compression chamber. The heating elements are installed under the compression chamber. The level for enabling the heating can be reduced up to a minimum of 2 cm, which guarantees the full immersion of the elements even while the drum is in movement.

13

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

12. MINIMUM WATER LEVEL FOR DOOR OPENING The parameter control the minimum level for opening the door. Default = 5 cm. Minimum = 2 cm. The door can‟t be opened until the level falls below the set value. It is not recommended to increase the default value to prevent overflowing when the exhaust system was clogged. 13. WATER TEMPERATURE FOR DOOR OPENING The parameter controls the temperature of the inner drum at the end of cycle. If higher than the one set, the door can‟t be opened and you will have to wait for the cooling. Default = 40 °C You should not change the default value to avoid accidents or delays due to a cooling of the tank not accomplished. 14. HYSTERESIS TEMPERATURE HEATING It defines the temperature gap for the re-ignition of the heating (differential). This is the difference between the set point temperature (temperature set in the program) and the ignition of the heating during the thermoregulation phase. Default = 2 °C The parameter has relevance only with machines equipped with autonomous heating (see "WATER HEATING TYPE"). The value can be modified to introduce any delay in the reactivation of the heating. Do not set the value to 1 °C otherwise you risk damaging the heating contactor or the steam inlet valve with sudden and continuous activations.

14

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

15. MAXIMUM WATER LEVEL It defines the maximum loadable water level in the tank. Default = 15 cm. Minimum = 10 cm. Automatically the water loading will be stopped at the level set here in this parameter, even if the programs were configured with higher levels. In the washing programs will only be possible to set water levels with a value lower than the one set in this parameter. It is recommended not to set higher values than 15 cm to avoid waste and spills from the overflow pipe. 16. WAITING TIME AFTER SPIN It is a delay time that is inserted automatically whenever a centrifuge is stopped by the alarm n°7 “UNBALANCE SINGLE” or by the alarm n°8 “UNBALANCE TRIPLE”. In addition, whenever a spin cycle is stopped by the STOP button and whenever a spin cycle ends automatically. During this time, the motor is controlled at 0 rpm, which means the inverter is braking the motor. Default = 1min 30sec. Minimum = 1min. If at the end of the spin step there is a 0 rpm braking step, longer than the time set into this parameter, the motor will continue to stay idle until the end of the braking step. Mind the parameter “RALLENTAMENTO AUTOMATICO” present since release 2.81. 17. MAX WATER LEVEL DURING SPIN This parameter will prevent to run spin step at speeds above 100 rpm if inside of the drum there was excess water. Default = 3 cm. Minimum = 2 cm. During the spinning step the drain valve remains open to allow the water out of the tank. If the discharge keeps closed or is clogged, the spin speed is automatically reduced to 100 rpm to prevent mechanical problems and excessive vibration. As soon as the level achieve a lower level than the one set in this parameter, the spin speed will be restored as in the program. 18. COLD WATER OPENING DURING COOLING This parameter is valid only when a COOLING step is present in the washing program. The COOLING step can be used after a hot wash cycle and it allows to cool down the washing machine automatically, not causing any thermal shock to the garments. 15

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

Default = 1.0 sec. Maximum = 15.0 sec. Minimum = 0.1 sec. The principle of operation in the cooling phase is the following: a) The machine fills cold water for the time programmed in this parameter. b) Every 15 seconds the machine checks the temperature and compares it with the gradient (visible in the step of cooling) and decides whether or not to activate the valve of the cold water always for the same time set in this parameter. c) Every minute, the IM8 logic board verify the performance of the temperature descent, compares it with the gradient set (visible in the step of cooling), and decides whether to proceed with the cooling or remain on standby (in case the temperature has drop too quickly). d) The procedure for loading cold water every 15 seconds, will stop when the level reaches the maximum value (set in the cooling step). At this point, it proceeds to the discharge until it reaches the minimum level (set in the cooling step). At its conclusion the process of loading and control temperature every 15 seconds restarts.

The programming of this parameter depends on the temperature of the cold water available to perform cooling, and from the gradient selected in the step of cooling:  The lower the cold water temperature, the lower the activation time of the valve.  The higher is the cold water temperature, the higher is the activation time of the valve.  The lower the gradient, the lower the activation time of the valve.  The higher the gradient, the higher the activation time of the valve. 19. DOOR LOCK MENU This menu contains the functioning parameters for the control of the motorized door lock installed on machine with higher capacity than 14 Kg. These parameters are not taken in consideration if the “ These parameters are not considered when “DOOR OPENING TYPE” is set on “IMPULSES”. The motorized door lock are available in two models: - METEOR 1.00 for washing machine IM8 equipped built since 2010; - METEOR 3.00 (and successive) since the serial number: L201212060 (RC/LM 14-18-23); L201212074 (RC/LM 30-40-55-70-85 except LM30); L201302102 (LM30). The menu is composed by six parameters and it is presented as follow: 16

E140902X_ENG

WARNING! The “HEAT” button enable the heating! For electric heated washing machines mind to activate this button just for some seconds to preserve the integrity of the heating elements. 23. WATER LEVEL RECALIBRATION It allows, while the machine is on stand-by mode and with door open, to adjust the zero level. This should be done when the water level read by the control board is not relevant to the real water level inside the drum. It should also be performed when the displayed level always remains fixed at 0 cm despite the presence of water in the tub. In combination with automatic calibration is recommended the inspection and cleaning of the compression chamber. By pressing the "OK" calibration is performed automatically. Do not blow into the pressure switch. 24. COIN MECHANISM MENU The menu lets you set the general parameters of the operation in self-service mode. The parameters are the following:

o MENU: It allows you to select three modes of operation:

20

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

 “NOT INSTALLED”: standard version (not self-service);  “CENTRAL CASH”: self-service operation with central payment system. In this mode the credit paid to the washing machine is not displayed on the IM8display card, it is displayed on the central payment machine. The washing machine also is appointed with a number (see parameter "MACHINE NR.") In such a way that the user can be facilitated in the selection of the button to be pressed on the central payment machine. In this mode a relay that signals the MACHINE BUSY (relay FREE5) is activated while the machine is working. This allows the central cash to recognize when the washing machine is free or busy. Since version 3.04, the "CENTRAL CASH" mode is subject to the activation of the "IM8 LITE" mode.  “COIN-OP”: self-service operation with an electronic coin mechanism (recognition of the league by scanning the coins) or mechanical (for accepting a simple token). In this mode, the credit introduced is displayed on the washing machine. Also in this mode is activated the relay MACHINE BUSY (relay FREE5) that allows to disable the coin mechanism when the machine is in operation. Since version 3.04, the "COIN-OP" mode is subject to the activation of the "IM8 LITE" mode Default = NOT INSTALLED. o “N° OF PROGRAM FOR SELF SERVICE”: It allows to display only a part of the programs stored in memory. For example, by selecting 5, the machine will only show the first 5 programs in memory. Default = 6. o “MACCHINE NR.”: If the selected mode is "CENTRAL CASH”, this command allows to number the machine to facilitate the client to allocate the payment. Default = 1. o “STOP BUTTON TIME”: Enable a time which the machine can be stopped and restarted with another program, without losing the credit. Default = 0 sec. The activation of any self service modality is directly related to the parameters “TIME TO RESET CREDIT” e “MACHINE BUSY”. For more details see the concerning paragraphs. 25. DOOR OPENING TYPE Sets the type of door lock installed in the machine. The choice is automatically set during the phase of DATA PRESET. You should not manually change this setting. The two options available are: o “IMPULSE”: Single action door lock. This setting is valid for LM/RC 8 -11 and for all the D2W models. o “MOTORIZED”: Motorized door lock. Correct setting for all the machines with a 21

24/07/2015

higher capacity than 14 Kg (except D2W models). This kind of door lock is adjustable by setting the “DOOR LOCK MENU” parameters. 26. DATA PRESET The function allows you to use the machine according to a specific PRESET (programs and parameters) previously loaded using the "PRESET FROM USB" functions. It is therefore re-established a standard that can be the IMESA‟s one (always working) or customized. The "DATA PRESET" overwrites the existing programs and parameters initializing the electronic board. Pay attention to the use of this parameter, usually used only during the software update. 27. PRESET FROM USB The menu is used to transfer the data from an USB pen drive to the internal SD card of the IM8 control board. The data that can be imported are described in the picture here below.

“PRESET FROM USB” is used during the software update phase. The data that can be transferred have to be stored into an USB pen drive with precise paths and subfolders (see the following diagram).

22

24/07/2015

More information on each single function of the “PRESET FROM USB” menu are described on the document E120401F and later release, available by request to IMESA‟s After Sale Dept. 28. USER PASSWORD This menu allows you to customize the password to access the user menu. The default "user" password is "111111" and is also described in the user's manual of the machine. To change the password must be entered before the current one and then be prompted to enter the new one. If the user password was lost, you will need to return the IM8 control card to IMESA SPA for the full reset (including further custom programs). 29. TECHNICIAN PASSWORD This menu allows you to customize the password to access the technical menu. The default "technician" password is "222222" and is not described in the user‟s manual of the washing machine to prevent the user can access them. To change the password must be entered before the current one and then be prompted to enter the new one. If the user password was lost, you will need to return the IM8 control card to IMESA SPA for the full reset (including further custom programs). 30. PROGRAM LENGHT In this log it can be checked, as well as modify, the time displayed on the duration of 23

programs (countdown). The remaining time is displayed only during the working phase.

The operation is not going to disrupt the real duration of the program (which depends on its composition), but only the time left at the end which is displayed on the right part of the display. For more information on this countdown visualization, visit the chapter "TYPE COUNT-DOWN". Default = 60 minutes (for all programs). 31. TOUCH SCREEN LOCK DURING WASHING This parameter can disable the fast forward button (FFWD), the PAUSE button, and the top of the screen (that is used to access the editing screen temporarily), while the machine is operating. The STOP button keeps its function enable. Default = NO. 32. PASSWORD ENVIRONMENT BLOCK Not used. 33. UNBULANCE CYCLE It defines the behavior that should keep the machine following the intervention of the imbalance microswitch. The function is active only on LM and D2W machines type. The default settings are described below:

As soon as the unbalance microswitch is activated, the spin cycle is stopped for 1 minute and the drain valve will continue to remain open. During this minute the drum slow down until stop. After the first minute, the machine starts to load cold water until it reaches the level of 5 cm. The drum is set in clockwise and counterclockwise rotation at 40 Rpm. Once the fifth cm is reached the machine will retry the spin sequence. If the third attempt to spin the microswitch even detects the imbalance, the programmer will automatically skip to the next block/cycle and will be published to display the error AL8 – TRIPLE UNBALANCE. The machine will continue the remaining washing phases „till the end of the program. 24

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

It is recommended not to alter the default settings on this special cycle that starts automatically. 34. SETUP INVERTER FROM /SD/IM8_inverter/inverter.txt This function allows to send to the inverter the parameter list stored in the SD card of IM8 logic board. The listing can be imported via USB using the "PRESET FROM USB". It‟s necessary in this case to have an USB stick prepared with the upgrade files. In the SD card it is always present one, and only one, inverter list that is loaded by the factory during the assembling of the machine and can be updated by the customer at any time after a long time or in the presence of a given problem to the inverter . Before using this command you are recommended to cancel the existing listing of parameters present in the inverter to avoid overlapping in MITSUBISHI inverter memory. This can be done by following the directions described below with machine on and door open: a) Open the back panel of the inverter; b) Press the MODE button one time; c) The display shows "P1"; d) search for "P79" turning the programming knob; e) Press SET one time; f) Set the value to 1 and press three times the SET button; g) Ensure that the red light under the PU label is turned on; h) Search for the parameter "ALLC" by turning the knob counterclockwise; i) Press SET one time; l) Adjust the parameter value to 1 and press three times SET button; m) Turn off the machine and let the inverter switches off completelly; n) Turn on the machine again and wait for the booting; o) It will appear the following screen:

p) turn off the machine and let the inverter switches off completelly; r) evaluate if it‟s necessary to upgrade a new inverter list by using the “PRESET FROM USB” or just use “SETUP INVERTER FROM SD/IM8_inverter/inverter.txt to send the listing already stored in the SD to the inverter. 35. TIME TO RESET CREDIT The function is effective only for machines with payment system. For both types of payment ("COIN MECHANISM MENU"), you can define a time within which the credit will be reset if it will not be used to buy a program. Default = 30 minutes. Minimum = 5 minutes. The function has value even when you insert a bigger amount than the cost of the program. The extra credit will be reset at the end of the desired time, even with the machine still in operation. The credit will not be reused for other customers at the end of 25

E140902X_ENG

the running wash cycle. NOTE: It’s possible to reset the extra credit instantly, without waiting for the expiration of a reset time credit. Turn off then turn on the machine, wait for the appearance of the flag, press within 30 seconds to the bottom right corner for 5 seconds. 36. WDT COEFFICIENTS From release 2.29 the WDT have been removed from the programming of each step. WDT = watchdog time. The washing programs have three different phases that can‟t be controlled by an exact time: - WATER FEEDING (poor inlet pressure, water leakage at the drain valve, inlet water filter clogged…); - WATER DRAINING (clogged drain, drain valve stuck on close position…); - RISCALDAMENTO (heating plant not efficient, water leakage at the drain valve, inlet valves spreading fresh water…) . Not being able to consider a fixed time for the execution of these processes, the IM8 considers the time limits within which these steps must be completed (WDT). Automatically all the programs will benefit by the WDT set in this menu, avoiding to adjust the WDT on each step of WATER FEEDING, DRAIN, HEATING. The default values are the following (March 2015):

- EXAMPLE WATER FEEDING: Taking as reference a LM11: supposed to load 10 cm of water during a cycle. The parameters of the water feeding act as follow: (Desired level / “Feeding speed cm/min”) x “Feeding safety coefficient” = (10 / 2.5) x 2.8 = 32’.

To load 10 cm of water, the machine authorizes a maximum time of 32 minutes. If it‟s necessary to increase the WDT you can reduce the “Feeding Speed cm/min” or increase the “Feeding Safety Coefficient”. - EXAMPLE WATER DRAINING: Taking as reference a LM23. The parameters of the drain act as follow: “Drain WDT” x “Drain WDT Safety coefficient” = (2’30” x 3) = 7’ 30”.

All the drains have to be completed within a time of 7' 30 ", regardless of the level you want to achieve. If you want to increase the drain WDT, just increase one of two parameters. - EXAMPLE WATER HEATING: Taking as reference a RC40, si supponga di voler riscaldare l‟acqua sino a 78°C. The parameter for the water heating acta s follow: (Desired temperature / “Heating speed °C/min”) x “Heating safety coefficient = (78° / 4.5) x 3.0 = 52’

To achieve 78°C the machine authorizes a maximum time of 52 minutes. If it‟s necessary to increase the WDT you can reduce the “Heating Speed °C/min” or increase the “Heating Safety Coefficient”. 37. TYPE COUNT-DOWN The countdown is the time remaining to the end of the program. There are two ways for counting the remaining time: - MEDIATED; - CALCULATED. Default: MEDIATED.

27

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

The MEDIATED countdown function provides a self-learning of the program timing. An average of the program timing is calculated each time the same washing programs is accomplished. The duration varies according to the times of the water feeding, water draining and heating. The displayed time is updated from time to time as a program ends. The time displayed will not be exact but it will be each time more and more real. The algorithm for the calculation of the average is the following: t(n+1) = 1/6 * [5* t(n-1) + tn] “tn” is the time lenght of the program just accomplished. “t(n-1)” is the progressive average of the duration of that particular program.. “t(n+1)” is the time that will be published on display at the next program start. The initial time is set to 60‟ by default. (see PROGRAM LENGHT). - EXAMPLE MEDIATED COUNTDOWN: CYCLE PROGRESSION I DISPLAYED TIME 60 (minutes) REAL DURATION OF THE PROGRAM 54 (minutes)

It can be considered that for a precise average are necessary at least ten executions of the same program. Especially in the first performances of the programs it is possible that the countdown display “00:00” despite the program has yet to be completed. The CALCULATED countdown function was created to match the end of a program with the value 00:00 shown on the display. Before to start a program the IM8 calculates the sum of all fixed times included in the program (washing time, rinse time, spin time...) and adds the variable times (the water supply, drainage, heating). The variable times are still calculated taking in consideration the WDT COEFFICIENTS included in its menu. At each conclusion of a variable step, IM8 recalculate what is remaining time and eliminates errors, proposing the new sum. To obtain a time consistent with the duration of the programs is necessary to set WDT COEFFICIENTS as close as possible to reality. 38. SLOPES The menu defines the acceleration and deceleration of the basket on three different frequency ranges. Thanks to the MODBUS communication system between IM8 and the MITSUBISHI inverter, it is possible to change automatically the value of the parameters P7 and P8 during the operation phase of the machine. The parameters that define the acceleration and deceleration ramp of of the motor are respectively P7 and P8. The change of the ramps allows to use three inverter‟s virtual gears. This ensures a smoother start of the spin and the related slowdown, without overload and without errors 28

due to generation of electric energy from the motor to the inverter. The default values are the following: 1° RANGE ≤ 45 RPM (prewash-wash-rinse)

2° RANGE ≤ 100 RPM (distribution)

3° RANGE > 100 RPM (spin)

39. PAUSE EXTERNAL SET It is possible to control the pause of a program through a remote contact coming, for example, by a remote dosing system. The machine will display the status of "SOAKING" and the program will stop until the reopening of the contact. Default = NO.

When this parameter is set to "NO" the machine can perform pause/soaking only by pressing the "PAUSE" button on the touchscreen. When the parameter is set to "YES" the machine will execute the pauses only by an 29

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

external contact closure. The external pause command can be performed also while the machine is spinning. NOTE: this parameter enables automatically the parameter " TOUCH SCREEN LOCK DURING WASHING ", so the machine works with a reduced functionality display. It’s possible to deactivate the function of the "TOUCH SCREEN LOCK DURING WASHING", but you can not deactivate a pause/soaking through the keyboard when the external contact is still closed. The external contact can be wired directly to the logic board IM8, CN15 connector, terminals 3 and 4. The contact must be normally open. 40. PAUSE WDT HEATING When this feature is enabled, after the expiration of the WDT HEATING, the machine will pause and a buzzer will be activated drawing the attention of operator. The buzzer can be silenced by a special button located on the lower right corner of the touchscreen Pressing "START" the machine repeats the heating step. Default = NO.

The function is of particular interest in the machines with steam heating, where you can have problems of supply or trouble at the steam generation itself. When the parameter is set to OFF mode, the machine indicates the expired WDT HEATING, but continues the program without giving the opportunity to repeat for a second time the heating step. The machine continues the washing program not reaching the desired temperature. 41. SOFT UNLOAD The function allows you to perform at the end of the cycle, with the door open, a slight rotation to the right or left of the drum for an easy removing of the laundry. In the menu, as well as to define the enabling or not of the function, is given the opportunity to decide the rotational speed of the drum during the unloading Default = NO. Default RPM soft unload = 4 RPM. Maximum = 20 RPM. Minimum = 1 RPM.

30

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

The function is particularly dedicated for tilting machine and is proposed as an option on the official IMESA‟s price list. The function requires, for safety reasons, the use of both of the user‟s hands. The rotation is enabled only when the operator presses a backlit button installed on the front of the machine and at the same time the IM8 touch screen icons for the right or left rotation.

+ 42. SERIAL NUMBER Entering the serial number of the machine in this parameter, enables the creation of a report at the end of washing cycle, before the opening of the door. The report is a summary of what the machine did made during the execution of the program. It appears as follow:

31

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

It‟s possible to have a lock to the last report by pressing the new icon which appears on the lower right corner while the machine is on stand-by and the door is open.

It‟s also possible to see the last report by typing the password “111111” searching for the parameter “READ LAST REPORT”. The reports can be downloaded into an USB pen drive. The command “DOWNLOAD REPORT TO USB/IM8_report” will create a new folder called “IM8_report” on the root folder of the USB drive. Inside this folder a “.txt” file will be stored and the name of this file is composed by the serial number and date of the download. If you run multiple downloads in one day, the file will be overwritten (in case you are using the same USB stick).

In the file there are the same indications visible in the display for each wash cycle accomplished. Are stored up to 5000 programs, then they will be overwritten in rotation. 32

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

NOTE: if the parameter “SERIAL NUMBER” is empty, the reports will not be created and the folder IM8_report will be empty. 43. WEIGHTING YES/NOT The function is working only for machine equipped with weighting system. The weighting system on IMESA‟s washing machine is composed by 2 or 4 load cells located on the corners of the basement Each time the “START” button is pressed the cells are pushed down by pneumatic pistons. The washer is lifted up and the weight of the laundry is displayed on the screen. The menu is composed by six parameters which adjust the weighting system and the interaction with the running program: with the weighting system activated is possible to calibrate the water feeding and the dosing of chemicals according to real weight of the garments. The weighing function is generally used on aseptic machines of the type D2W, but can also operate on machines LM prior request in phase of realization of the machine. Default = NO.

I parametri sono di seguito spiegati: o “ZERO WEIGHING”: setting. o “OFFSET DOOR WEIGHT”: It introduces a compensation error to balance the weight of the door or the doors (D2W models are available with single door or double door). o “WEIGHT CORRECTIVE FACTOR”: It is a coefficient connected to the presence of 2 or 4 load cells for weighing. o “WEIGHT REDUCTION”: Enable the proportionality of the water level control and the detergent dosing according to the weight introduced in the machine. The proportional dosing is applied only on machines equipped with detergent pumps installed by IMESA SPA directly on the back of the machine. The steps where the "WEIGHT REDUCTION" is active are only those of FILL (water feeding) and SOAPS (limited to relay SAP1, SAP2, SAP3 ... SAP8). o “CAPACITY’”: It describes the capacity of the machine. The parameter is used to manage the proportionality of water filling and detergent dosing. - EXAMPLE OF AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF THE WATER FILLING.  Machine LM40 = 40 Kg of capacity (dry clothes)  Desired water level set for the current program = 12 cm; 33

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

 Real weight of the garments introduced in the drum = 34 Kg. The automatic calculation of the level depends by this formula: Automatic level = (Real weight of the garments / CAPACITY) x Desired water level set for the current program; Livello automatico = (34 / 40)* x 12 = 10** cm * **

The result of the division is taken as an integer. If the result would be less than 5 cm, it will always assumed to be 5 cm.

– EXAMPLE OF AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF THE DETERGENT DOSING  Machine LM55 = 55 Kg di capacity (dry clothes).  SAP1 activation time (or SAP2/SAP3…SAP8) = 25 sec.  Real weight of the garments introduced in the drum = 42 Kg. The automatic calculation of the level depends by this formula: Automatic soap time = (Real weight of the garments / CAPACITY) x SAP Activation time Automatic soap time = (42 / 55)* x 25 = 19** sec. * **

The result of the division is taken as an integer. If the result would be less than 1 sec., it will always assumed to be 1 sec.

44. PASSWORD CYCLES PROGRAMMING Since version 2.57 of IM8, the access to the program editing is conditioned by a password. "EASY PROG" remains anyway access free.

The default "PROGRAMMING" password is "555555" and is not described in the user manual of the washing machine to prevent the user can access them. To change the password, first of all enter the current one and then digit the new one. If the password is lost, you will need to send back the control card unit to IMESA SPA for the full reset (custom programs included). 45. EMPTY TANK SMS The parameter is used to avoid the sending of SMS in case of alarm "ALARM EMPTY TANK X" (where X is the number of the tank, from 1 to 8). Default = NO. The parameter is valid is only for machines equipped with IMESA‟s dosing system with 34

E140902X_ENG

24/07/2015

peristaltic pumps and GSM system. The “ALARM EMPTY TANK X” will still appear on the display anyway. 46. AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN The function allows to introduce an automatic deceleration time if the sequence of steps that composes a program has not been correctly compiled. After a high speed "SPIN" step it‟s mandatory to insert another "SPIN" step or "DRAIN" step by setting the engine NO (0 RPM), for 1 minute. The slowing down time is still dictated by the capacity of the machine. The electric motor is then stopped before resuming any right / left rotation dictated by the next cycle. The parameters are described below:

o “AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN”: Enable/disable the function; Default = NO. o “SLOWDOWN THRESHOLD SPEED”: It defines the RPM threshold beyond the function is activated. The values can be entered are from 0 to 500 RPM. Default = 50 RPM. o “AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN TIME”: defines the maximum time for automatic slowing down. The values can be entered are from 0 to 300 seconds. Default = 90 sec. During normal execution of a washing program, on each step is monitored the speed of the subsequent step. If the speed of the following step is lower than the "SLOWDOWN THRESHOLD SPEED", the "AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN TIME" will be inserted automatically, with the proportion 1:1000 RPM. - EXAMPLE 1 (default parameters):  Spin speed = 1000 RPM.  Speed of the step after spin = 25 RPM; The calculation of the automatic slowdown time is the result of this formula: AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN = (Automatic slowdown time / 1000 RPM) x Spin speed AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN = (90 sec / 1000 RPM) x 1000 RPM = 90* sec.

- EXAMPLE 2 (default parameters):  Spin Speed = 388 RPM.  Speed of the step after spin = 40 RPM; The calculation of the automatic slowdown time is the result of this formula: AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN = (Automatic slowdown time / 1000 RPM) x Spin speed. AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN = (90 sec / 388 RPM) x 1000 RPM = 35* sec. - EXAMPLE 3 (default parameters):  Spin Speed = 500 RPM.  Speed of the step after spin = 75 RPM; The calculation of the AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN can‟t be done because the speed of the step after the spin cycle is higher than the “SLOWDOWN THRESHOLD SPEED” value. * Parameter "WAITING TIME AFTER THE SPIN" becomes a priority if the "AUTOMATIC SLOWDOWN” calculated is lower. 47. CONTROLLED WATER LOADING Enabling this parameter allows you to greatly reduce the error between the level set in the program and the real level of water loaded into the drum. The error can be induced by the presence of foams or residues in the pressure switch‟s compression chamber, or by the "mill" phenomenon created by the backcross of the drum (sudden filling / emptying of the compression chamber). The parameters are described in the following menu:

o “CONTROLLED WATER LOAD”: Enable/Disable the function; Default = NO. o “WATER LEVEL CONTROL”: It defines the level which the water control is executed. Allowed values 0 to 10 cm. Default = 2 cm.. o “DRUM PAUSE TIME”: It defines the time at which the level is controlled. Allowed values 0 to 30 sec. Default = 2 sec. When the function is activated, the machine fills up to the level dictated by the formula: Level Check Point = Water level set in the program – WATER LEVL CONTROL 36

When the machine achieve the Level Check Point value it stops for the time described in the parameter DRUM PAUSE TIME. Then the machine stays idle (no rotation) continuing to fill water up to the water level set in the current program. 48. MACHINE BUSY The function allows the enabling of the FREE5 relay during the working phase of the machine to signal to an external device the status busy or free. This function is generally applied in the self-service, when you need to report to a central payment device or to a coin meter device the status “available” or “not available” of the washing machine. The function can still be used even on not self-service machines. The available parameters are the following:

o “MACHINE BUSY ABILITATION: Enable/Disable the function; Default = NO. o “MACHINE BUSY WITH”: It is defined the logical state of the relay FREE5, present on the power card between the contacts 6 and 5 of the connector CN1. By setting the value to OFF, during operation of the machine the relay remains switched OFF. By setting the value to ON, during operation of the machine the relay remains switched ON. The commutation of the relay begin since the START button is pressed (program start) until the next opening of the door (conclusion of the cycle). On self-service machine equipped by central cash payment unit, the value “MACHINE BUSY WITH” must be turned OFF. Make sure that the central cash payment unit interprets the “busy” signal delivered by the washing machine with low logic level. This allows you to retain “BUSY” (not available) a washing machine when it is operating and also when it is out of service (machine switched off). On self-service applications with standard coin meter, the value of “MACHINE BUSY WITH” must be set to ON. This can inhibit the acceptance of coins / tokens when the machine is in operation (coins / tokens are rejected and expelled by the lower output of the coin). WARNING! The above described settings are standard on self-service systems where COMESTERO® payment equipment are installed. For any other brand or payment type not tested by IMESA SPA, refer to the product‟s manual and its distributor. 49. FIRE PREVENTION The parameter enables the activation of the fire prevention alert. The function can not be 37

activated on all machines as it requires the presence of a suitable wiring between the contactor of the heating elements and the control board IM8. On machines already provided with this feature as standard, the fire risk alert can be deactivated anyway. The function can not be enabled on machines equipped with steam heating or hot water (self-service). Default = NO (not active). The control of the "FIRE PREVENTION" is assigned to an NC contact (normally closed) on the heating contactor and to a digital input of the IM8 card (CN12 connector, terminals 1 and 2).

When "FIRE PREVENTION" is enabled, the IM8 control unit starts a comparison between the status of the heating signal applied to the contactor coil and the state of NC contact on the heating contactor. You can check the following: HEATING SIGNAL FROM IM8 HEATING ON HEATING OFF HEATING ON HEATING OFF

N.C. CONTACT ON HEATING CONTACTOR OPEN CLOSE CLOSE OPEN

MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON IM8 NO ERROR DISPLAYED NO ERROR DISPLAYED AL30 FIRE PREVENTION NOT OPERATIVE AL29 FIRE RISK ALARM

If "FIRE PREVENTION NOT OPERATIVE" appear, clicking on the screen the machine goes to the end of cycle. Verify that the heating contactor does not remain mechanically locked in the rest position (open contacts), or that the heating signal is not delivered to its coil because of problem at the wiring. If "AL29 FIRE RISK ALARM - DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY" appears, you have to turn off the main switch of the machine (at the back) or unplug the power supply instantly. Verify the heating contactor is not stuck in the working position (contacts close) when it‟s not required to heat the water (for example during rinsing, during the spin, or when the machine is turned off or in stand-by with the door open). Meanwhile, when the alarm is displayed on the screen, the current cycle is interrupted. The drain valve is commanded to be close, the drum is idle, then the load of cold water and hot water is forced (valve AF and AC) until reaching 5 cm level to ensure the immersion of the heating elements. If the water drops to 3 cm by evaporation or because of leakage at the drain valve, the restoring of the level is restarted up to 5 cm. The process of immersion of the heating elements continues until the shutdown of the machine. 38

WARNING! For machines not equipped with “fire prevention” harness, if this parameter was activated accidentally, it will still be published on the display the alarm "AL29 FIRE RISK DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY". Turn off the machine, wait for the reappearance of the alarm, press 5 times in the center of the display, then one time the lowest left corner, then one time the lowest right corner too. The IM8 will allow access to the parameter “FIRE PREVENTION” to disable it by placing it on "NO". Press "OK", turn off and on the machine.
