Notes: 1) It is permissible for the steels to be supplied with no niobium or vanadium. If no grain refining elements, or if grain refining elements other than aluminium, niobium or vanadium are used, the manufacturer shall inform the purchaser at the time of enquiry and order. If niobium and vanadium are used in combination, the combined total shall be less than 0.10% in the case of Grades 50A, SOB, SOC, 500 and less than 0.15% in the case of grades 50E and 55C. 2) It is permissible for the manufacturer to vary the carbon and manganese contents (ladle analysis) for grades SOB, SOC, 500 5000 and 50E on the basis of an increase of 0.06% manganese for each decrease of 0.01% carbon or vice versa up to a maximum manganese content of 1.60% and a maximum carbon content of 0.22% for grades SOB and SOC and 0.20% for grades 500, 5000 and 50E. 3) For materials in grades SOB and SOC over 16mm thick a maximum carbon content of 0.22% for ladle is permitted.
4} For material in grades 500, 500D and 50E over 16mm thick, a maximum carbon content of 0.20% for ladle is permitted.
5) Up to and including 9mm thick, 16% for grades 40 and 43 and 15% for grades 50 and 55.
6) Verfification of the specified impact value is by agreement only.
7) Minimum yield strength 230 N/mm2 for material up to and including 19mm thick.
8) Minimum tensile strength 480 N/mm2 for material over 63mm thick (63mm up to and including 100mm for plates)
9) To maximum thickness of 19mm.
10} Minimum tensile strength of 480 N/mm2 for materials over 16mm up to 100mm thick.
11) liAR" - as rolled, "N" - normalized
12) Maximum thickness for plate is 100mm, KCV = Charpy V Notch
13) For Plates: Minimum tensile strength 410 N/mm2for material over 100mm thick
14} Apply to Plates only
15} For Plates: Minimum tensile strength 460 N/mm2 for material over 63mm up to and including 100mm

Notes: 5) For AS/NZS 3678 grades 200, 250 and 250L 15: Niobium: 0.010% maximum Niobium + Vanadium: 0.030% maximum 6) For AS/NZS 3678 grades 350, 350L15, WR 350 and WR350LO:
Vanadium: 0.10% maximum
Niobium + Vanadium + Titanium = 0.15% maximum
1) The following elements may be present to the limits stated, subject to a total content of 1.00%: 0.40% a) Copper b) Nickel 0.50% c) Chromium 0.30% d) Molybdenum 0.10% 2) Limits specified are for acid soluble or total Aluminium
7) Gauge length = 5.65
3) Carbon Equivalent (CE) is calculated from the equation:
