DRAWINGS



Work permits shall be secured prior to commencement of anchor bolt installation, Proper egress and working platform shall be provided, Form work where the anchor bolts are going to be installed shall be fixed firmly with the supports,



Center of the template shall be marked on the template itself

With reference to the approved drawings marked the bolt locations on top of the templates, Considering the center lines of template as the grid locations mentioned in the drawings

With respect to the dia of anchor bolt that is going to be used , the marked up locations on the template for anchor bolts have to drilled 3 to 4mm more than the dia of anchor that is going to be fixed , (i.e for bolt of dia 27mm ,the hole on the template shall be made up to 31mm), This extra 3 to 4mm of the hole dia shall be used for fixing the bolt in precious location with help of surveyor prior to concreting,

Fix the bolts in the template and insert in to the pedestal , the template shall be supported adequately with supports to take load of the bolts without any sagging and keep the template firmly fixed inits position during concreting

The nuts for the anchor shall be fixed one at the bottom of the template and other at the top of the template as shown in the below figure , this type of arrangement facilitates the adjustment of bolt levels during setting out of anchor bolts prior to concrete pouring

As per the approved drawings drawings mark up the grid lines for anchor bolts on top of the shuttering ,



Fix the templates with the anchor bolts exactly on top of the survey guide lines, major adjustments shall be made by shifting the template ,minor adjustments by shifting the anchor bolts with in the dia provided in the template , Once its made sure that the template is in exact location, fix the position of the template firmly ,



With the help of the surveyor start adjusting levels of the anchor bolts , the anchor bolts shall be lowered or raised by turning the nuts at the bottom of the template , The bottom of anchor rods shall be secured to prevent movement or tilting of the anchor rods during concrete placement. Anchor bolt threads shall be covered with duct tape or other suitable means to keep them clean and to prevent any damage that might occur during concreting of the foundation until completion of grouting



Tolerances Unless otherwise specified in the contract documents, embedments shall be installed in accordance with the tolerances shown in Table 1. The term “bolt group” used in Table 1 is defined as the set of anchor bolts for a single fabricated steel shipping piece, or a single piece of equipment or skid
