Latar Belakang Masalah

Why should we pick you to be a delegate in Diponegoro MUN 2014? As we talked about the impact of terrorism on human rights or the humanitarian concerns in war-torn countries, I recognized the greatest challenge to resolving conflict. It was not a lack of time, money or energy. It was the difficulty of learning to negotiate and compromise with people from every background, culture, religion and perspective. Model UN not only helps us to face that challenge, but to overcome it. The bottom line is there is no better way to understand how the world works than to try walking in the shoes of other countries. From the moment you set foot in a Model UN conference, you are the diplomat and you must represent your country’s interests in the global community.

We participate in Model UN so that we have the ability to face and hopefully solve those same issues on whatever scale we can. Yet, it is sadly evident that in the world of Model UN, the same embracement of diversity has been continually put aside for stereotyping and bullying – causing The Gender Divide. Becoming model UN for me is a best opportunity to develop myself by facing and solving the issues on the world. As a student, I find it interesting and enjoy researching the worlds most important problems. In this era of globalization, learning about the world issues is really important. I believe that the worlds problems are caused by difficulties to understand and negociate with the people from different backgrounds and various point of views. We need to overcome the challenges and make good impact for our society in order to create a better world. Every youth in every nation must be concerned about the world issues because they may take role as the leader for their country.

No matter what we are learning, we will interact with people from different backgrounds In this era of globalization, learning about the world is more important than ever. No matter what field or profession students enter, they will interact with people from different countries and diverse backgrounds. Problems taking place halfway around the globe impact our lives, our country, and our communities.

Students learn about the world as they prepare for Model UN conferences, represent countries other than their own, and present possible solutions to global problems in committee. Students also learn by meeting people from other countries and travel to places they’ve never been before.
