MOTOR 1. SCOPE This specification applies to Molded Plastics for use in automotive interior trim in respect of general performances. Therefore this specification excludes performances of parts or components specified by other engineering specification and material specification.

3. QUALITY The requirements in 3.1 and 3.2 shall be satisfied. Inspection agreement per respective parts shall be made with regard to the requirements in order to give evaluation. 3.1 General Requirements 1) The color tone shall be within the range of standard sample under the bright natural light. 2) The surface of parts shall not have any flaw, uneven luster, sunburn, excessive weld mark, flow mark, pin hole, tack and other defects. 3) The finished products of polyamide[nylon] shall be immersed in hot water (80 ℃ or higher) for 1 h or more right after molding. 3.2 Detailed Requirements These parts shall be tested by the methods specified in clause 4, and shall conform to the requirements in Table 2. Each test items shall be applied to the same method (setting windshield glass and rear glass) as those attached in the real vehicle. However, sealing is not needed between glass and body. 4. TEST METHODS 4.1 General Condition 4.1.1 Conditioning Specimens shall be conditioned for at least 24 h at 23 ±2 ℃ and 50 ±5 % RH prior to testing, and tested under the same condition. When the laboratory can't be kept in this state, the temperature and relative humidity shall be reported. 4.1.2 Species of specimens Specimens shall be selected from finished products or equivalents made under the same conditions with finished products. The specimens shall be subjected to 2nd process such as plating, vacuum evaporating, hot stamp, painting, and so on. The detailed requirements for the 2nd process shall conform to respective specifications. 4.2 Test Sequence In case of prescribing particularly on the drawing, shall perform vibration resistance test after testing heat aging resistance. 4.3 Heat Cycle Resistance Test 4.3.1 Heat Cycle Resistance Test 1) Test Conditions The heat cycle resistance test indicated by Fig. 1 shall be repeated 3 times. (1) Heat Resistance : The surface temperature of parts shall conform to the requirements in Table 3. 1F-SG-00002

4.4 Heat Aging Resistance Test Shall apply visual inspection after aging the specimen in an oven under the conditions specified in Table 4. In case of laminating parts and painting parts, shall perform crosscut adhesion test [conforming to clause 4.15 in KS R 0014]. Crash pad (including pad layer) shall be evaluated under the conditions of assembly, and judgement of parts deformation, etc. shall be arranged between the parties. Colored parts molded by polypropylene [PP] resin shall evaluate appearance change of surface under the conditions in Table 5 only if specified in the drawing. Table 4 Parts classification

*) Irradiation intensity of 320 nm and less shall perform setting less than 1.5% of irradiation intensity of 300∼ 400 nm 4.6 Vibration Resistance Test Shall conform to KS R 1034 (VIBRATION TESTING METHODS FOR AUTOMOBILE PARTS), after attaching the specimen in the vehicle. Shall perform test with acceleration of 4.4 G only if specified in the drawing. 4.7 Chemical Resistance Test Shall inspect and evaluate the appearance of specimen, after wiping 3 times off the specimen with cloth soaked chemicals specified in Table 8, and then standing the specimen for 1 h at room temperature. Then after placing the specimen into an oven at 70 ℃ for 3 h, shall evaluate the state of specimen. Shall be excluded this test for colored parts made by polypropylene with good chemical resistance. 4.10 Impact Resistance Test Drop the specimen from the height of 1 m on a flat steel plate (10 ㎜ or more). Apply one test per each planes of the specimen (six planes) so as to allow each plane to hit against the plate respectively, but it is possible not to reach vertical direction on the plate. Shall perform test only if specified in the drawing and be excluded parts of heavy weight such as crash pad main panel, heater blower etc.. 4.11 Fogging Resistance Test Shall conform to MS 300-54 only if particularly specified in the drawing. 4.12 Conduction Resistance Test Specimen of disc type made under the same conditions with the finished product (diameter 100 ㎜, thickness 2~3 ㎜, no wrinkle processing, may admit specimen by cutting and sampling from finished products) shall be tested after 48 h or more in normal state of clause 1F-SG-00002

4.1.1. After arranging conductivity rubber, press electrode to specimen. After making the circuit, store electricity for 1 minute and measure surface resistance. Calculate the resistance rate of surface using following formula, and report numerical mean after measuring 3 specimens.
