This work is an e-book reprint of a personal article published by the project, Biel, o Clássico , (project of a Korean magazine about authorial works), and we inform you that there were corrections and changes in content, spelling and spacing, in addition to some sentence corrections in the process. All content in this work is fiction and has no relation to real people, groups or events. This work was first published in 2006, and the content of the work is based on the situation at that time, therefore, it may not correspond to current reality.  Prologue As soon as the doorbell rang, Jeong Tae-ui paused what he was doing. The bean sprouts fell from the chopsticks he held in his hand and rolled. It took less than a few seconds for the black beans to leave the plate, leaving no sticky trails, and the doorbell rang again. Jeong Tae-ui tapped the end of his empty chopsticks on the table and glanced nervously towards the front door. He had a bad feeling ever since he heard the faint sound of footsteps coming up the stairs. No, to be precise, it had been raining since dawn, his knees had been throbbing and he'd been in a bad mood since he woke up. When it rains or the weather is bad, his knees always hurt, and today he's throbbing.  That's when he ate his simple breakfast and had a few drinks, feeling no different from the silent, rainy sky. The sound of footsteps outside. The weathered home in town, built over 20 years ago, was quickly made known by the sound of a cat entering the building, ringing to the top floor and on the third floor just below the roof.  Jeong Tae-ui thought something was not right from the moment he heard footsteps coming up the stairs after entering the building at this ambiguous time, just after 7 am. The moment the doorbell rang, the foreboding hit like a deep sense of reality. Few people visited his house. His brother – the only person who lives with him in this house and who hasn't heard from him since he left four days ago – wouldn't ring the doorbell because his brother had a key. The strong, heavy footsteps that stopped outside the door rang the bell once more as he was dying.  It's angular and heavy sounding. Similar to the sound of military boots. The moment he thought of the word “military boot” , his bad feeling deepened, and this time, the doorbell rang three or four times in a row. He didn't even eat much, but he lost his appetite, so he put down his chopsticks. The person outside the door who brought up an ominous hunch showed no sign of backing down. There was a person who came to his mind with the behavior of constantly pressing the doorbell without knocking on the door or shouting loudly, making his heart even more depressed.  (...) It was when the doorbell rang exactly twelve times that Jeong Tae-ui took the lock off the house and opened the door.

The person standing outside took a step back as the door opened. The shoes, which made sharp sounds, were clean, dust-free military shoes. And on top of the shoes, there was a black military uniform, straight and intact. To be exact, it should be called conquest or uniform, not military uniform, but the place where this man was working was not much different from the military. The small silver badge dangling from the collar somehow looks exceptionally hateful. It's not because there are many people in the world who can't bear the urge to wear that badge. There was never a good thing when this man came to this house with that badge dressed up. Even so, it was the third or fourth time he had seen this man's suit of conquest . His hands, in black gloves, removed his black beret. The man smiled softly as he faced Jeong Tae-ui. "It's been a while. Nothing happened, right?” It's been about three years since he last met this man. In the meantime, many things have happened. He almost died removing a mine, he almost died once more due to rejection during surgery, and he put up with a guy who framed him three times, the fourth time he beat him so bad he almost killed him, he didn't even serve half of his sentence. mandatory service, but was discharged from the military. Jeong Tae-ui looked at the man for a while with a complicated face and sighed. “What's special about me that my uncle doesn't already know? Could something special have happened for my uncle to suddenly come without notifying me at this time?… come in.” Somehow, he still thought he didn't have a good feeling. It's not that he doesn't like this man, but it's just too uncomfortable to come here in this outfit. However, if you think about it, he must have come to visit his older brother, and there was nothing sinister about him. However, Jeong Tae-ui walked away in a bad mood as if he had the plague at home. The man's eyes slightly curved as if they were cheerful, without unwanted light. Jeong Tae-ui asked earlier as he closed the door behind the man entering the house. “When did you arrive?” “Two hours ago. I came straight from the airport.” “Yes, I understand… But why didn't you at least contact me? He is not here." The man, who was sprawled on the couch in a lazy posture that didn't quite fit a neat, wrinkle-free uniform, paused for a moment and glared at Jeong Tae-ui when he heard him. "It is not? When will he arrive?”  "I don't know. He left four days ago and I still haven't heard from him. Did you just come to Korea to find him? Then you have come a long way in vain.” “Do you know how to contact him?” "Who knows? If I try to make contact and it's that easy, then it's not Jeong Jae-ui.” Jeong Tae-ui sat on the bench across from the man and spoke his last sentence nonchalantly. Jeong Tae-ui's older brother was a person who led a relatively regular life. If he had to be gone overnight for a day or two, he would simply announce his plans to let you know briefly and leave. But sometimes he left with no promises and didn't come back for days and now it was the same. There were times when he returned after three or four days, but sometimes there was no news for more than two months, so it was impossible to predict when he would return this time.

But this time, he might not be able to come back for quite some time. When he left the house four days ago, his brother said something unexpected and left. 'It's no fun if a person is too lucky to live. I have to have some bad luck too.' Thinking of his brother leaving with a smile as meaningless as those words, Jeong Tae-ui was momentarily lost in thought. He was originally a difficult person to understand, so it was not clear what he wanted to say that day. But… “Hmm, what should I do?” (...) Seeing his uncle muttering and tapping his forehead with his fingertips, Jeong Tae-ui muttered into his mouth. Pass by chance. What kind of bad luck is it for a human being to disappear for a while, just before such bad luck comes without warning? As such, that big brother is a person who won't even be able to see bad luck for the rest of his life. Jeong Tae-ui has an older brother who was born on the same day and at the same time. Although they were born in the same womb, the older brother, who wasn't that much like Jeong Tae-ui, was frighteningly smart. The word genius was not enough to express it. If Hyung didn't have such a relaxed and lazy personality, if he wasn't a person with no interest or ambition around him, to exaggerate a bit, he could have blown up a continent of the Earth. Even at the United Nations Human Resources Development Organization, the ailing brother had exceptional talents in the humanities, science, technology, and even entertainment. On the other hand, Jeong Tae-ui was ordinary. It would be correct to say that it is a little better than usual. Anyway, whatever he does, he wouldn't drop below average level. Depending on the field, you were told he was excellent. However, if Jeong Tae-ui is said to be excellent, that was the result of his own efforts. He was different from the older brother who achieved the highest score without putting in as much effort as half of the others. However, Jeong Tae-ui had never envied his brother in that regard. He thought it would be convenient, but he didn't want to have such a talent. What Jeong Tae-ui envied in his older brother was not such great brains, talent or skill. What he envied was his brother's luck. Jeong Tae-ui's older brother, Jeong Jae-ui, was so lucky that even his brain, said to be a genius among geniuses, was unrivaled. His luck was really extreme, enough to describe the fact that he was born under a lucky star. Even if he was involved in a serious accident, his luck was beyond the miraculous possibility that Jeong Jae was safe and not injured, and he had never received a proper allowance when he was a student, because there was no need for it. There wasn't much need for money because there was no material desire, but if a sudden need arose and there was no money, Jeong Jae would borrow some coins from the people around him and buy a lottery ticket. Then the lottery would bring him exactly as much luck as he needed. It was always that easy. Beside Jeong Jae-ui, who always had such incredibly extreme and absolute luck was naturally established in everyday life, Jeong Tae-ui suffered as much luck as a normal person and a similar amount of misfortune. It would be a lie if he didn't envy his brother's lot in such a life.

When he was young, he was so jealous that his stomach hurt so much that he couldn't stand it, but it wasn't to such an extent anymore. It was just a general envy for something amazing and good that he couldn't have. For Jeong Tae-ui, who was a little jealous of something, even if that's it, that was the only jealousy he felt towards others. He was jealous, but still Jeong Tae-ui liked his older brother. He was so smart and so talented at using his head. Furthermore, the lucky person, was aloof, fickle and mysterious, but he was ordinary like a brother. He was normally friendly and trustworthy. They were close brothers in their own way. Although he was a brother who still maintained a certain mystery even after twenty years of living together, it is unknown if the race of geniuses are all like that.  But maybe my brother didn't like me very much. Four days before his brother left, the night before, as usual, he was looking at a complex project that Jeong Tae couldn't understand and sometimes lost himself in thought as he wrapped himself in images of chemical and molecular models at his side, but not even for a long time could he not understand, even if he walked up right next to him and stared fixedly at the blueprint. Looking at the unknown chemical formulas and numbers, Jeong Tae-ui thought, 'My brother is moving to an unknown world again', walked over to the sofa next to him, picked up an ordinary humanities book that he could understand and opened it. It was a quiet and comfortable night, as usual. Perhaps tired after looking at the paper for a long time, his brother pushed them aside and lay down on the floor with a blank expression on his face, as if he was hypnotized looking at the ceiling. At that moment, maybe a tired sigh came out of his mouth.  Suddenly, he sat down next to Jeong Tae-ui, who was sitting on the sofa and reading a book, he suddenly grabbed his pinky and said: "In this place…" And he continued to speak with his pinky outstretched. “Here, there is a red thread between us. We were born in the same womb, on the same day at the same time, so it's natural and inevitable… Let's cut it out now.” "…What?" What kind of incomprehensible sentence was that all of a sudden? It is said that he, an older brother that there is nothing in a kingdom that he cannot understand, but he never said anything that was not familiar to him. It was an obvious fact that he knew that his brother didn't have an ordinary brain, but at this moment, Jeong Tae-ui doubted for a moment whether his older brother wasn't even the owner of a normal brain. However, the elder brother, who had a calm look on his face, opened his fingers in a scissor fashion and pretended to cut between his little finger of Jeong Tae-ui. As if cutting the red thread of the invisible connection between them. And after that, he looked up at the ceiling as if nothing had happened. Tae-ui stared at his still raised pinky. Then he suddenly asked: “Hey…Do you really hate me?” Or did you just do something that could hurt my feelings now? He looked back at his memories, but nothing happened. What was the problem? What kind of problem did he encounter that he suddenly said to cut off the relationship between them?  When Jeong Tae-ui asked this, his brother suddenly asked him what he was talking about. "Because I?" That's what his brother replied. Jeong Tae-ui tilted his head and stared into her face. However, he didn't know what he was thinking, but when he saw his brother's expression, which was smug,*  he went back to his book without saying anything else. But if he thought about it, maybe that phrase was shorthand for “Why would I like you?” –  that was what Tae-ui thought it was.

Even though he's curious now, the only person who could answer the question left without a promise. Leaving behind the words that he should experience bad luck. Jeong Tae-ui thought, 'You're talking about everything you're satisfied with', but now that I see it, Hyung is really, really lucky to be gone. Since this annoying guest showed up after he left. He was always really lucky. ——//——— He wasn't happy at all, but he couldn't ignore the person who came to his house for the first time in a long time and asked him to eat something, so Jeong Tae-ui put another bowl of rice on the table. It had been a long time since he lost his appetite, but he still sat at the table across from his uncle.  “What's wrong with that?”  His uncle grinned at the table, with barley rice, spiced soup and cold noodles placed in front of them. “What do you want from a poor guy? Does my uncle's army only serve large amounts of tasty delicacies?” “Of course, if life is hard and rice is rough, there will be inner turmoil. So does the army.” “What do you mean, not much different from the military? From what I've heard, it's much more cruel than the army.” “Still, people eager to get in lined up to the other side of the world. It’s a big name, the United Nations Human Resources Training Organization.” “I can't remember a name that long.” As he watched his uncle eat, saying, 'It's been a long time since I've had such a simple side dish, it's delicious', whether it was a compliment or a complaint, Jung Tae-ui sighed again and picked up his spoon. Apparently, once he left his chopsticks, he had no appetite. I don't want to eat soup or drinks. As she ate the dried fish, her eyes stopped suddenly on the chopsticks moving in front of her. He already thought about it a long time ago, but this person held the chopsticks very beautifully. He has good hand movements to use chopsticks correctly. That hawk looks like my brother. While thinking like that, Jeong Tae-ui looked up and saw his uncle's face. It's purposeful, and in a way, it has a gentle appearance. It looks like your brother's. This is understandable. Genetically, he is my biological father. Although I look nothing like him. “The 3rd memorial is next month, right?” Not knowing what Jeong Tae-ui was thinking, he suddenly said, “Yes. It is the 20th day of the lunar calendar. You will come?" “That must be difficult.” Come to think of it, the last time he saw his uncle was at his father's funeral. After that, there was no time for ancestral rites or anything else, but he knew they couldn't be helped because his uncle was a very busy person. This person, an uncomfortable guest for Jeong Tae-ui, but actually, he was a welcome person anywhere in any country. “I don't know when he'll be back, but should I tell my brother to call my uncle when he gets back?” Even though he knew that if it was urgent it would be faster for his uncle to find someone personally to look for him, ask him the first time. Of course, if the result is bad for him, his lucky brother won't be found. “No…I don't have that much time.” The uncle who quickly got rid of a bowl of rice muttered as he wiped his mouth with his fingertips.

He stared intently at Jeong Tae-ui. At that moment, an ominous feeling that had been forgotten crept up his spine again. His uncle called him. “Jeong Tae.” “Uncle… I don't know why you're looking for my brother, but he and I are very different, right? I'm a human being who can't even understand the chemical formula my Hyung solved when he was five." Jeong Tae-ui said quickly, bluntly, his uncle returned the soft gaze as before. His eyes were downcast. As if it were fun. “You and Jae-ui, you know that either one of you is my son, right?” The words that his uncle brought up were a topic that Jeong Tae-ui had never expected. It might have been an unexpected thing to say, but he had no idea what kind of words he would use in this context. Jeong Tae-ui looked at his uncle and said with a sigh. “Well, not one of the two, but both are uncle's children genetically.” "I know. What is wrong with it?" It was no secret. This was what he heard directly from his father when he was a child. I thought I was old enough to understand what he was saying, so my father sat the two children down and spoke slowly. “The father is unable to make babies, so I got them with the help of their uncle.” But even back then, nothing much has changed. My father was still my father, and my uncle was still my uncle. Even in a single phenomenon, the facts become one, but the truth can be several. But my father said, "Then one day your uncle will say something strange." He also said, "I think he's right," and added, "Then follow him." It's not necessarily because of those words, but the brothers also obeyed their father's requests. Tae-ui followed his uncle very closely, who was a nice and friendly person, except that sometimes he really caused trouble. But his father was in heaven. And her uncle often said strange things. “No, not both. Only one. Even before you were born, knowing you were twins, my brother said he would give me one of you. So, originally, you were supposed to become brothers who were separated right after you were born and lived as cousins… The two quick-witted boys were so close that I had no heart and gave up pushing them away.” See, your uncle still saying weird things again. When Jeong Tae-ui looked at him with confused eyes, his uncle immediately smiled, realizing it. He looked suspicious, emphasizing that he was serious, but he wasn't one to lie. Besides, he somehow had a feeling. I wondered if that was it. When his father said that he would give one of his children to his younger brother…..Maybe he didn't mean it personally. Perhaps, this was a strange word. Thinking back, at that time, my father remained silent for a while and calmly added: “When the time comes, treat your uncle like a father and follow him.” – Would the time to follow him one day, mean when your uncle asks? I cannot know. However, if it was something my father could convince me of, I wouldn't intend to raise my voice. Even though he wasn't there, Hyung would probably come to a similar conclusion as Jeong Tae-ui.

Jeong Tae-ui was quick to give up. It can be said that it adapts to a certain environment, or it can be said that the adaptation is fast. “Yes, uncle….Coincidentally, my cousin left, so should I tell him to call my uncle when he gets back?” When Jeong Tae-ui said that, his uncle laughed out loud. His smiling face resembled that of his older brother. In fact, if they resemble each other like that, there would be no difficulty in saying that he was the biological father. In fact, it looks like they have similar personalities. By the way, your brother must be surprised when he comes back this time and finds he has a new father. No, I don't think you'll be surprised. Jeong Tae-ui didn't remember seeing his brother surprised by anything – at least not outwardly expressing surprise. “There is no time to look for a missing person. Now, from today, you are my son. Would you like to go with me? Pack your luggage. All miscellaneous things are distributed there, so only pack what you really need.” his uncle said, rubbing his chin happily. There was laughter in his voice. However, Jeong Tae-ui, who heard this, was not satisfied. It was a rare experience in itself, but it wasn't pleasant to hear such strange sounds one after another with little time difference in the same day. "I?" “Yes, Jeong Tae. My son." It felt like a heavy load was about to rest on his shoulders. At that moment, Jeong Tae-ui looked directly at his uncle with a serious face and frowned. What is the reason for his uncle's sudden need for a child, who lived alone without a wife, as well as this outrageous act of his, to suddenly appear and insist on the rights of fatherhood without saying a word? “Can you not follow me?” “Come and show filial piety, son.” “I don't want to, dad. Can't I just be a disobedient son?”  His uncle smiled sincerely. His uncle and father got along very well. The age gap between her uncle and her father was only three years smaller. So, instead of an uncle, he felt like an older brother. Uncle smiled deeply and stood up to approach Jeong Tae-ui. And then, out of nowhere, he slapped Jeong Tae-ui on the head, who was looking at him suspiciously. It's a kind of violence that can't be expressed in pretty words. "There!" When Jeong Tae-ui looked at him with displeasure, holding his head, he still couldn't stop smiling and said calmly. “Hey this guy, I worked really hard to get him relieved of military duty, but he can't thank you, what a disloyal person! You should be more grateful.” "There! There! It hurts, uncle! it really hurts!” Even his hands are spicy, similar to his older brother's. As was to be expected, it would be better for his older brother to be this man's son. He had nothing to do with violence because of his languid personality,* but his hands were very hot when he patted her on the back. The uncle, who hit Jeong Tae-ui, sat down again calmly, rubbing his hands together as if nothing had happened, while Jeong Tae-ui rubbed his head and muttered sullenly.

“ I still had a long way to go before my period of mandatory service, but I was discharged. So what did Uncle help me with?” “Yes, because at that moment I heard from Jae-ui: 'My younger brother, whose body and mind are in shambles, is suffering and crying in the army.' “… What… I think he overdid it a bit.” I almost lost my reputation in the military hospital, and everyone around me started fighting, so I suffered a little, but it's already too much to shreds... The problem was, I was assigned to the same unit as the guys I had the worst relationship with when I was in the military academy. In the end, I almost killed one person and almost died, and now that I've completely cut ties after being discharged from the military, I don't want to think about it anymore and I have nothing to think about. Jeong Tae-ui, who was depressed because of the memories he had forgotten, sighed softly.  He was discharged four months ago and was now officially a member of the unemployed youth. He was thinking that he should do something now that his legs were healed and his body was fine. “Yes, why do you suddenly need a child? Where are you going to send me?” When Jeong Tae-ui asked as if he was crazed, his uncle showed a funny smile. “I think I have a good son… Anyway, I need someone to use. Not so long ago, the number of people significantly decreased while fighting with the European branch guys. I just need to increase the numbers a bit.” (...) “…That's an excuse, the truth is you need a lucky guy.” His uncle stopped for a moment. Jeong Tae-ui silently waited for him to continue his words. Needless to say, he knew the words were an excuse. As he said, if you line up people who are eager to get in there, they'll reach the other side of the world, so there was nothing to come here on purpose if head count was simply an issue. But if he's lucky, Jeong Tae-ui didn't apply, so that's not the case for him, and that was something his uncle knew. “In half a year, our branch general will go to the Americas headquarters. So the two vice ministers are vying for the position underwater, and there is originally a faction struggle in any neighborhood. That's why, as a boss, I'm a little tired. Anyway, if my direct supervisor is going to become a general, I have to help. In other words, it means that we have to fiercely fight each other during the next semester, and meanwhile, a lot of cheap and petty tactics happen. Therefore, it means that there is a need for a subordinate who is lucky enough to survive for a long time among them.” “I am not that lucky.” “Hmm… It's like being a chicken instead of pheasants. What about?" “How about what? Who would be happy to hear it's a chicken instead of a pheasant?" Jeong Tae-ui answered bluntly, but the words themselves didn't offend him too much. No. If a pheasant is a person of Jeong Jae's level, just calling yourself a chicken is a good thing. That's why Jeong Jae-ui was an exceptional human being.

I could only understand half of my uncle's words. The lesson Jeong Tae-ui understood was, 'It's like this is going to get you in trouble.' As it is said about conflicts between factions, it was almost no different from the military society where Jeong Tae-ui who didn't want to turn his head in that direction and pass the same as before. “Is my uncle not from the Asian branch?” "It is true." “If you are luckier and more capable than I am, you will find as many stars in the sky as you can. Take any one of them.” “You've already said what's at stake. Can't say that after all.” “Tae, what do you mean by that? It's going to be an open option anyway. Fight well on your own and get promoted safely.”  Jeong Tae-ui waved his hands and stood up as if this was the end of the story, and started cleaning the empty bowl. Then, his uncle grabbed his wrist tightly.  Jeong Tae-ui clicked his tongue. Looking at his uncle's face, he looked sincere. This made it difficult to refuse. “Uncle… You know why… I can't.”  Jeong Tae-ui muttered with a sigh. Then your uncle became serious. “Tell me why you can't. If there is a reason then I will look for someone else. "You know." "Good…" I had no idea what this man was thinking. Judging from his words alone, there was no reason why the person needed was Jeong Tae-ui. I don't know about Jeong Jae-ui, but people like Jeong Tae-ui were widely spread across the world. "Uncle. First of all, I don't like going to the army. There has been enough in that closed-off, authoritarian environment.” “We are not military. I just train a little more, but the rank system and internal atmosphere are different from the military. They often deal with classified cases, so they might be closed off in that sense, but at least they're not overbearing. When you enter, the ranks above you are the general, two deputy ministers and six instructors, and you will hardly see the general and deputy minister. All others are the same. Now what is the other reason?” “…My body is weak.” “I know you are better.” “I don't need to go to the hospital, but my knees still hurt and my body suffers.” “There is no one who does not feel this. All took a shot or two and broke a few bones. Now why else?” “And I'm not even up to what my uncle wants. My luck and skill are only average.” Uncle then rolled his eyes again. He looked at Jeong Tae-ui subtly for a moment and then spoke slowly. “I need someone who can survive for a long time while doing what they're told, but I still have great respect for you, Jeong Tae-ui. I think I know him to some extent, but for reference, I also looked at his military academy records up to the most recent. You know, you have the most important thing to survive safely.” "What would that be?" “Insight.”

(...) I thought the story would be serious, but suddenly a strange word appeared. Jeong Tae-ui, who was listening to some praise, lost his body strength. “Uncle… What do you mean?….” "Why? Are you disappointed?” “Instead of disappointment… Yes, I was disappointed.”  Jeong Tae-ui shook his head slowly and muttered, his uncle chuckled softly. “You cannot be disappointed. A particularly lucky guy like Jae-ui is something else, but for many ordinary people, the essential thing to survive is conscience. In other words, 'sense'. Depending on the situation, depending on whether or not the sense is a little better than others, it lives or dies.” Uncle's face lowered slightly. It was as if he remembered the many life and death scenes he had been through.  Jeong Tae-ui also closed his mouth. Since finishing high school, he's been in a place where men and the smell of gunpowder are mixed. However, he had never left a place where death and life were divided. All he had done was train. He had never experienced the crossroads between life and death that his uncle must have gone through. It was not in such a fierce life that he almost died. There was only the risk of an accident that anyone could experience. However, he seemed to know what his uncle was talking about. “So what next?” "What?" “Any other reason?” His uncle nodded as if to say if there was more. His face says what I've said so far is not a good reason. If it was a compelling reason, he wouldn't have argued against that reason. Jeong Tae-ui looked at him silently. His uncle also faced him. While slowly waiting for Jeong Tae-ui to open his mouth without rushing him further. Sometimes, Jeong Tae-ui was surprised by his older brother. It is not his genius or fortune, which he is as familiar with as air sticks to his skin. That's when he realized he knew him surprisingly well. Although they had already grown up together – even if they didn't always get along because their lives were different – it was thought that they knew each other well enough, but sometimes Jeong Jae-ui pushed him away. This is the case when Jung Tae points out his own choices and thoughts that he wasn't even aware of. Even without intentionally observing, Jeong Jae-ui naturally understood a person's essence. He used to be evil. In that sense, his uncle certainly looked similar to Jeong Jae. (...) He never said so, never hinted, and he didn't see his uncle very often, but he seemed to already know. Or, even if he didn't know, he wouldn't be surprised to hear Jeong Tae-ui's words. “… It is dangerous to enter a crowded place where only men are… occupied.” Jung Tae-ui muttered sadly. Uncle raised his eyebrows almost invisibly as he looked at the pouting face, and the next moment he laughed as if he was enjoying himself.

"Who?" While he didn't understand his uncle's question, he asked one after another. “Do you mean for yourself or the others?” Jeong Tae-ui frowned. And after thinking about it, he replied. “To be precise, it would be me.” "You? Why? Do you think those guys over there are going to drag you under the bed and attack you?” Jeong Tae-ui looked at his uncle, who was talking like he was enjoying himself. Then, at the end, he clucked his tongue and muttered like a sigh, as if he had given up. “ I feel like I will be the one to attack them.” “I didn't realize your defensive range was so wide. If you want to, and if you can, go ahead. If it's not your superiors, it's a society where power holds sway.” “…It's okay to drag and attack anyone as long as you're strong?!” When Jeong Tae-ui said this loudly, his uncle held out his hands and smiled.  Sometimes it was hard to tell if what this person is saying is a joke or something serious. Jeong Tae-ui clicked his tongue and scratched his head nervously. And his uncle looked at him with fixed eyes. “Uncle why do you pretend you don't know when you do?” "Good. In that context, the only thing I can guess is that you have a tendency to be sexually attracted to people of the same sex, is there anything else?” “That's enough to make me tired.” “Were you that tired of hitting one of your grumpy classmates and getting dumped?” Jeong Tae-ui glared at his uncle for a while and sighed as if he was tired and leaned his head against the wall. See, you know everything after all. He guessed, so it wasn't all that surprising. His uncle took a cup from the cabinet that was within reach, took the kettle that was also within reach and poured the water. Then, as he savored the cool water as if it were fragrant tea, he said: “Jeong Tae, Regarding this matter, I might have wondered if it would be convincing if you put it from a slightly different perspective. But if you mean that, I don't understand.” “What do you mean from a different perspective?”  When I asked in a low voice because I was tired of talking. My uncle laughed jokingly. That's right. “For example, you are afraid that other people will attack you.” “Uncle, this joke is not funny…” A deep sigh came out automatically.  "No, I'm not even kidding."  Even the murmur was a joke. This wasn't a joke.  “Okay, is there any other reason?”

Jeong Tae-ui sighed for a long time. After that, he kept his mouth shut for a moment, then mumbled as if he had given up on everything. "…Half year?" Then the uncle opened his eyes and smiled happily. “Yes, half a year. Until the next general is decided. After that, do whatever you want. You can give up, or if you like this life, you can continue. Incidentally, even if you quit, you won't have time to worry about finding a job because you'll be flooded with scouting requests as soon as you quit. Even if you worry about the way forward. Being in our organization is a brilliant experience.” "Yes, I think so." Jeong Tae-ui seemed to have lost all the strength in his body, so he leaned back in his chair. He crawled along, feeling like he'd completed a marathon every session – even though he didn't feel the slightest sense of pride in accomplishment.  But the time indicated by the clock on the wall caught my attention, it was exactly when people started their work day. It is said that the future is unknown, but he did not expect such an unexpected change. Yeah, he hadn't had a good feeling since that morning. And in the end, it was like that. Looking at it that way, he didn't even understand his uncle's words very well, but the possibility that he chose him because he had good insight was probably very true. End of Prologue. *Conquest costume – official clothing or uniform of a high-ranking member of the army or private security company.  * Pretentious expression - expression of debauchery, vanity, pride or arrogance. (With a brother like that, who needs an enemy huh…) *Languid personality – calm and passive. Anyone still deluded that he is Seme? hahaha Translated and proofread by Lady Morgan
