The followings are the materials about conditional sentence type 1. The following conversations are the samples of conditional sentence type 1. 1. A first conditional sentence is a sentence that expresses an idea that might happen at some point in the future. It is something that is possible, but its certainty is unknown because it depends on another event. 2. The social function is used to express that the action in the main clause (without if) can only take place if a certain condition (in the clause with if) is fulfilled.
