A long time ago, there lived a family of son and his mother near the sea. It was Si Deruma the mother and her son Si Tanggang. One fine day, Si Tanggang told his mother that he wanted to find a job. “Mother, I think I should find another job to help you. I hope you allow me to be a sailor at that big ship, said Si Tanggang to his mother. I’m worry and will miss you son. But, if that make you happy I am allow you to be a sailor, said Si Deruma the mother. After that, Si Tanggang went to that big ship to be a sailor. The captain of the ship took Si Tanggang immediately. Si Tanggang was a hardworking man. The captain like him and decided to the King about him. The king also like Si Tanggang’s and decided took him as his son in law. He was married to the king only daughter. He became the captain of the ship. Next, Si Tanggang became a very famous and successful person. One day, Captain Tanggang went to sail with his wife. He saw that a storm was coming. He quickly sail the ship to the nearest island. “This island look familiar to me, said Si Tanggang. The villagers saw Si Tanggang on that ship and told his mother Si Deruma about this. “Oh my son has come home. I must prepare his favourite food, said the mother. When all was ready his mother set her boat to see his son. It was a long time she not sees him and though she could never ever see him again. “Oh Tanggang, I'm your mother", his mother called out. Look I’ve brought your favourite food”. The sailors began to laugh ang Captain Tanggang became angry. Then, he ordered his man to chase out his mother. “I don’t have mother like you. My mother already died, said Si Tanggang. Suddenly, his mother was cried and prays to God. “If that was my son, I hope Good will punish him, said his mother. Then, the thunder storm came and the ship was shipwreck. Si Tanggang was cried and asked for forgiveness from his mother but it was too late. “Mother, Mother please forgive me, said si Tanggang. The storm was over as suddenly as it had begun. The ship and all the people became stone. From, that day onwards, the story of the ungrateful son became a lesson for all young people.
