TUGAS 2 EKONOMI TEKNIK KIMIA

SELESAIKAN SOAL SOAL BERIKUT INI 1. Estimating cost of equipment using scaling factors and cost index. The purchased cost of a 50 gal glass-lined, jacketed reactor (without drive) was $8350 in 1981. Estimate the purchased cost of a similar 300 gal glass-lined, jacketed reactor (without drive) in 1986. Use the annual average Marshall and Swift equipment-cost index (all industry) to update the purchase cost of the reactor.

2. The purchase price of a 500-gal reactor in 1950 was $6,000. What would be the purchased cost of such a reactor in 1953? What would be the price of a 1,000-gal reactor in 1953? (use Marshall and Stevens process-industry indices; 1950 index =167, 1953 index = 181). 3. It is desired to be able to pump 3,000 lb per hour of a liquid whose density is 50 lb per cu ft through 100 ft of dur iron pipe of the most economic pipe diameter. The line will contain 15 fittings and 3 valves a. What pipe diameter should be employed? b. What will be the installed cost of such a line?

c. If the line is insulated with 1 ½ in. 85 percent magnesia what will be the insulation cost? 4. A one-story 20 ft high warehouse 100 ft by 60 ft in size is to be erected on 60 piles and will be constructed of a reinforced-concrete floor, cinder-block walls, and a corrugatedsteel roof. What will be the cost of the building complete with sprinklers, heating and lights? 5. It has been determined that a new process installation will require 10,000 lb per hr of steam, 1,000 kva of electricity, and 30,000 gph of tower water. What will be the installed cost of these utilities.
