The rapid advance of technology at this time caused human needs also increased. There is a connection between technological advances and the increasing human needs, namely human needs become easier to meet. So we can deduce that the development of technology to help and meet human needs . Like Microsoft Office software, it's helpful for office workers, students, and more. PEMBAHASAN A. HISTORY OF MICROSOFT



The history of Microsoft Office began in October 1990 as a package of three applications designed for Microsoft Windows 3.0: Microsoft Word for Windows 1.1, Microsoft Excel for Windows 2.0, and Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows 2.0. Then after being popular, in 1995 Microsoft re-launched this office application with the 1995 version along with its Windows 95 OS. In this operating system, Microsoft completely overhauled Windows version 3.1 and Windows 3.11 for Workgroup, a significant change in the history of the PC operating system at that time. In line with the development of the Microsoft Windows operating system, Microsoft Office itself continues to grow and is increasingly established and is loved and used by most of the computer community in the world, including in Indonesia. Until the 2000s, Microsoft had launched several versions of Microsoft Office and it is still used as a mainstay of modern office applications. Some versions of Microsoft Office that are still widely used today include Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office XP (2002), Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office 2007 and the most recent is Microsoft Office 2010. B. TYPES OF MICROSOFT AND THEIR RESPECTIVE USAGE 1. Microsoft word



Microsoft Word is one of the most commonly used Ms. Office software for processing documents such as proposals, letters and other documents. This application was developed by Microsoft which is included in the Microsoft Office package. Microsoft Word has a logo in the form of the letter W and decorated in blue. The output is in the .docx format. This application was published in 1983 as Multi Tool Word for Xenix. Other versions were later developed for various operating systems, for example DOS (1983), Apple Macintosh (1984), SCO UNIX, OS / 2 and Microsoft Windows (1989). After becoming part of the Microsoft Office System 2003 and 2007 it was named Microsoft Office Word. In Microsoft Office 2013, the name became Word. Its main function is as word processing software so that all work related to word processing can be done easily with the help of applications in it such as, •Make letter • Insert images • Create tables • Making writing with various variations (word Art) • And create documents

There are so many uses of Microsoft Excel that we can use, then what do you want to use Microsoft Excel for. 2. Microsoft excel



Apart from Ms. Word above, the famous application from Ms. Office is MS. Excel which is an application for processing numbers (arithmetic) such as creating tables, financial journals, etc. This program is often used by accountants to write down or record expenses and income within a company or an institution or small agencies, However, to perform calculations automatically which can be in the form of basic calculations, formulas, use of functions, processing data and tables, making graphs and data management. The use of the formula itself can be in the form of addition, subtraction, multiplication and so on. While the use of functions can be in the form of using formulas that aim to calculate in the form of mathematical and non-mathematical formulas. This application is a spreadsheet or collection of cells consisting of rows and columns where you enter numbers in Microsoft Excel. The number of cells in Microsoft Excel 2016 consists of 1,048,576 rows and 16,384 columns or 17,179,869,184 cells. This makes Ms Excel one of the most widely used computer programs for microcomputers to date. Nowadays, even this program is the spreadsheet program that is most sought after by many people.Fungsi Dan Kegunaan Microsoft Excel Microsoft Excel is no stranger to our daily lives, Microsoft Excel has many functions, including, • Create a financial report • Create a Value List • Presenting data precisely, neatly and accurately • Create an attendance list • Perform operations times, divides, averages quickly • Calculating Currency Exchange Rates • Create Graphs and Tables from a calculation • Create bar charts, line charts and pie charts • Helping us in solving logic and math problems • Make presentations more practical and easy

Microsoft Powerpoint is a software that is used to make presentations. Microsoft Poweerpoint is a software from Microsoft Office. In Microsoft Powerpoint, there are various types of features that can be used by users. One of the features in Powerpoint is a template. Template is a background that is used to beautify the appearance of the presentation. In Microsoft Powerpoint, spreadsheets can be saved in various types of formats, such as PPT, PPS, POT, and PPTX. Microsoft Powerpoint has several advantages, such as. User friendly display that can make it easier for users. There are various kinds of background designs that are used to enhance the appearance of the presentation. Microsoft Powerpoint slides can be edited according to the user's wishes. Apart from displaying text, Microsoft Powerpoint can also insert images, tables, links, and others. 4. Microsoft Office Outlook



Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Office Outlook is a personal information manager program from Microsoft, and part of the Microsoft Office suite. Although usually only used to send and read email, this program also has calendar functions, work schedules, notes, and journals. A small version of Outlook is Microsoft Outlook Express which is provided free of charge by the Microsoft company, along with the IE (Internet Explorer) web browser. Microsoft Outlook Express was later replaced by the Windows Mail program in Windows Vista. You can also use Microsoft Outlook on all Windows devices, not only on computers. For example, the Outlook Mobile program, which allows users to share Outlook data with each other on a smartphone. In addition, back-end and middle-tier systems can also be configured to communicate using Web service standards such as SOAP, UDDI and WSDL. One of the advantages of infopath is support for XML. The xml format is a format that can be used for data exchange, both internet and intranet. By using this infopath, you can determine the form design of the form that we will make according to what you need. InfoPath itself has provided templates that can be used directly for our needs such as: Attendance Request, Invoice, Meeting Agenda, Resume, Service Request, Time Card, Sales Report, Travel Request etc. 6. Microsoft Visio



Ms. Office also provides facilities to users in the form of Ms. Visio, this application is widely used for making flowcharts. Apart from creating flowcharts, Visio is also very convenient for making various kinds of diagrams, brainstorms and also some network schemes. Microsoft Office was first introduced in 1989. Microsoft developed this software to help office work, such as Microsoft Office Word which was intended for help with word processing jobs, Microsoft Office Excel which is intended to help with number processing jobs, and many others. The original Visio was not made by Microsoft Corporation, but by Visio Corporation, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2000. Versions that have used the name MicrosoftVisio are Visio 2002, Visio 2003, and Visio 2007 which are the latest versions. Visio2007 Standard and Professional offer the same user interface, but the Professional series offers a wider choice of templates for more advanced diagramming and layouts. In addition, the Professional edition also makes it easy for users to connect their diagrams to several data sources and also displays information visually using charts. 7. Microsoft Office Front Page



Microsoft FronPage is an html editor and web site administration tool. FrontPage is designed to hide html code from web pages that are edited by the user from the user's eyes. With FrontPage, we can see directly what will appear in the web browser when we edit a web page in FrontPage, because FrontPage is an application with WYSIWYG principles (What You See Is What You Get) or "What you see is what you get". In FrontPage one of the well-known features is automatic Web Templates. The template created by FrontPage includes an automatic navigation system and is able to create buttons that can be animated for several pages that have been added by FrontPage users and can also design a page that you want to display on the web.

Microsoft OneNote is an Office application that functions like a note pad, where you can write, draw, insert objects, doodle, display screenshots, make comments, and share them with colleagues. Unlike Microsoft Word, in OneNote you can write and put anything anywhere you like. Almost the same as when scribbling on paper, in OneNote you are also free to put note elements.

1. Microsoft Office 3.0 . It turned out that the first to be released was version 3.0. This version is only available for Windows OS. 2. Microsoft Office 4.0. Released in 1994. Contains Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, PowerPoint 4.0, Mail and Access. 3. Microsoft Office 4.3. This series is the last 16-bit series and also the latest version that supports Windows 3.x, Windows NT 3.1 and Windows NT 3.5 4. Microsoft Office 95 Or also known as version 7.0. This version uses 32-bit for compatibility with Windows 95. Office 95 is available in two versions, Office 95 Standard and Office 95 Professional. The standard version consists of Word 7.0, Excel 7.0, PowerPoint 7.0 and Schedule + 7.0. Professional version includes everything standard plus Access 7.0. 5. Microsoft Office 97. (Office 8.0), This version was released with many features and improvements compared to the previous version. Introduction to the command bar, something new where menus and toolbars are made more closely resembling their visual design. Office 97 also features Natural Language System and Sophisticated Grammar Checking. This is the first version to use the Office Assistant. 6. Microsoft Office 2000. (Office 9.0) In this version many options are hidden. Of course this option is also important, but of little use by ordinary people. If you want to use this option can be displayed. One of them is Macro. Why is it hidden? Because it can spread the macro virus. Office 2000 is the last version that can run on Windows 95. In this version there is also no Product Activation. Then there is a Smart Tag feature that allows reminding the user when there is a misspelled typing. But in Office, Smart Tag can only be run in Word and Excel. Office XP also integrates with voice commands and word dictation, as well as handwriting. In this version there is product activation. Office XP supports Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0. Office XP is also known as the first version of Office to run well on Vista OS. 8. Microsoft Office 2003. (Office 11.0). As the name implies, this version was released in 2003. It features a new logo. Two new applications also exist, namely, Microsoft InfoPath and OneNote. This is the first version to use Windows XP style and its Icons. Outlook 2003 provides advanced functionality such as Kerberos authentication, RPC over HTTP, and Cached Exchange Mode. This version also includes a developed junk mail filter. Office 2003 is the last version that supports Windows 2000.This version is also the version most widely used in Indonesia, especially for rental and cafe in the last period of 2009. 9. Microsoft Office 2007. (Office 12.0). This version was released in 2007. Has new features. There is also Groove, a collaboration application. Office 2007 has a new display design called Fluen User Interface. Then there is the Ribbon UI as a substitute for menus and toolbars. To install it requires a minimum of Windows XP SP 2. In 2009 this Office has been widely used now and began to shift the position of Office 2003. Indonesia is a bit slow to adjust to the increase in technology. 10. Microsoft Office 2010. (Office 14.0). Currently under development. A possible release is in 2010. Version 13.0 was skipped due to superstition about the number 13! Some of the well-known applications in Microsoft Office are Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. The latest version of Microsoft Office Applications is Office 16 (Office 2019) which was launched September 24, 2018. B. Advice Microsoft office is a software application that is used by almost all levels of the ummah across the country. So I hope that Microsoft will continue to develop and update devices to make it better and more optimal. And also make it easier for its users.
