Changing Conditions and Emergency Procedures: Stop Work, Switch off all equipment, Supervisors must direct all personnel to the nearest Emergency Exit and Assembly point.

Working without permit. Not comply with ARAMCO requirements. No JSA No tool box talk Wrong area to be back filled– damage to underground utilities, spill, and electrocution. Existing hazards on the surface of area to be back filled – contact with overhead lines, damage to surface equipment/lines, surface items falling into the trenches. Unauthorized and/or unintentional entrance to excavation – fall into excavation. Potential hazard of both worker and mobile equipment falling in open holes or trenches. Traffic may have to be re-routed – create other hazard (identify here). Motor vehicle crashes and injuries to occupants as barriers not visible especially during darkness. Struck by moving vehicle at site.

Obtain the work permit as per assigned task and fully comply with the requirements. Ensure all crew involved are briefed about activities & hazards, complete JSA prior to every shift. Fire resistant coverall shall be recommended for brown field.

Identify correct area to be backfilled. Remove or mitigate any existing hazards that may exist on the surface of the area to be back filled. Visually identify above ground services/lines in area that may be damaged or create an overhead hazard.

Completely barricade the entire area to be back filled. Use signage and/or tags to indicate purpose of barricading. Have traffic re-route plan when necessary to safely re-route traffic. Barricades to be clearly lit during darkness with warning lights. Make eye contact with drivers in vehicles to avoid being missed and struck. Wear high visibility vests in traffic areas. Establish walkways for workers to avoid moving vehicles.

Flag man to coordinate the equipment movement. Assign licensed and experienced operators. Install adequate safety signs. Wearing of the required PPE’s . Pump water out when necessary. Workers to use proper tools when using hand tools for back filling. Workers to take regular breaks (specify time based on work conditions). Workers to drink fluids, take breaks when working in warmer weather -.frequency based on conditions. Evaluate need to provide shaded break area. Approved extended work permit to be obtained prior to start of work, Close supervision required. Wear clear safety glasses. Welfare facilities, Transportation facilities, HSE coverage to be available. Proper lighting in all work areas, access areas, lighting preparation to be done prior start of work. No equipment moving in poor illuminated area. Dedicated electrician, maintenance personnel to be available at night. Watch your steps.
