Objective/Action This Service Bulletin provides the instructions to incorporate the "ALTERNATE CLIMB" option on PW1127G-JM engines rated at 26800 lbf AET and PW1133G-JM engines rated at 32700 lbf AET. The "alternate max climb" rating option of A320NEO is called "PW1127GA-JM Alternate Climb" and is displayed as "PW1127GA" on the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU).

The "alternate max climb" rating option of A321NEO and A321 NX is called "PW1133GA-JM Alternate Climb" and is displayed as "PW1133GA" on the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU). The option is activated through VSB PW1000G-C-72-00-0003-00A-930A-D and pinprogramming modification on the Flight Management and Guidance Computers (FMGCs). NOTE:

This Service Bulletin provides instructions for installation of the Alternate Climb option. However the option installation is subject to a commercial policy managed directly between the Customer and Pratt & Whitney.
Advantages Accomplishment of this Service Bulletin will satisfy the operator's request.

Objective/Action This Service Bulletin provides the instructions to incorporate the "ALTERNATE CLIMB" option on PW1127G-JM engines rated at 26800 lbf AET and PW1133G-JM engines rated at 32700 lbf AET. The "alternate max climb" rating option of A320NEO is called "PW1127GA-JM Alternate Climb" and is displayed as "PW1127GA" on the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU). The "alternate max climb" rating option of A321NEO and A321 NX is called "PW1133GA-JM Alternate Climb" and is displayed as "PW1133GA" on the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU). The option is activated through VSB PW1000G-C-72-00-0003-00A-930A-D and pinprogramming modification on the Flight Management and Guidance Computers (FMGCs). NOTE:

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS Task set A320-A-72-XX-1037-01000-93AA-A (A320-A-72-XX-1037-01ZZZ-93AZ-A) Modification WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE WARNINGS AND ALL THE CAUTIONS INCLUDED IN THE REFERENCED PROCEDURES. WARNING: YOU MUST BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ALMOST 1 HOUR. CAUTION:
ALWAYS OBEY THE PRECAUTIONS THAT FOLLOW TO KEEP ELECTRICAL WIRING IN A SATISFACTORY CONDITION (ELECTRICALLY AND MECHANICALLY SERVICEABLE). WHEN YOU DO A MAINTENANCE WORK, REPAIRS OR MODIFICATIONS, ALWAYS KEEP ELECTRICAL WIRING, COMPONENTS AND THE WORK AREA AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE. TO DO THIS: PUT PROTECTION, SUCH AS PLASTIC SHEETING, CLOTHS, ETC., AS NECESSARY ON WIRING AND COMPONENTS. REGULARLY REMOVE ALL SHAVINGS, UNWANTED MATERIAL AND OTHER CONTAMINATION. THESE PRECAUTIONS WILL DECREASE THE RISK OF CONTAMINATION AND DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL WIRING INSTALLATION. IF THERE IS CONTAMINATION, REFER TO Ref. ESPM 20-55-00.

The accomplishment instructions of this Service Bulletin include procedures given in other documents or in other sections of the Service Bulletin.
