MACAM-MACAM PARTS OF SPEECH 1. NOUN (KATA BENDA) Noun digunakan untuk menamai orang, benda, hewan, tempat, dan konsep abstrak. Noun ini sering kita temukan dan gunakan dalam membuat kalimat dalam bahasa Inggris. Contoh: chair, ball, home, love, etc. – I do love my cats. – I sit on the old chair. 2. PRONOUN (KATA GANTI) Pronoun digunakan untuk menggantikan noun. Part of speech ini bermanfaat untuk menghindari repetisi/pengulangan penggunaan noun. Contoh: I, you, they, we, she, he, it, this, those, none – I like use a blue dress. – None the people in this room. 3. VERB (KATA KERJA) Verb digunakan untuk menunjukkan tindakan dari subject, menunjukkan peristiwa, atau keadaan. Contoh: write, listen, watch, type, make, etc – I write the articles every night. – She makes me jealous. 4. ADJECTIVE (KATA SIFAT) Adjective ini digunakan untuk menerangkan noun atau pronoun. Contoh: the cute baby, a smart girl, the expensive book. – Look at the cute baby! I want to kiss him. – I think it is the expensive book taht I have ever bought. 5. ADVERB (KATA KETERANGAN) Adverb digunakan untuk menerangkan verb, adjective, maupun adverb lain. Macam-macam adverb antara lain: yesterday, quickly, very, maybe, always, there, just. Contoh: – He is very smart boy in the school. – She always do everything quickly. 6. PREPOSITION (KATA DEPAN) Preposition ini dikombinasikan dengan noun atau pronoun untuk membentuk phrase (prepositional phrase) yang menerangkan verb, noun, atau adjective. Contoh: in, on, under, beside, behind, between, corner, in front. – I put my pink bag in the cupboard. – I sit beside Rio and Alan. 7. CONJUNCTION (KATA SAMBUNG) Conjunction ini digunakan untuk menghubungkan dua kata, frasa (phrase), klausa (clause), atau paragraf (paragraph). Contohnya: but, both … and, not only…but also…, although, however. – I want visit the country not only Germany but also Turkey next year. – Both my mother and my father love the cat. 8. INTERJECTION (KATA SERU) Interjection merupakan ucapan pendek digunakan untuk mengungkapkan emosi atau menyeru seseorang. Contoh:



– Listen to me, please! – Pay attention, please!
