COURSE PURPOSE:



COURSE OBJECTIVES:



This course has been designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair the Caterpillar 3116/3126 MUI Fuel System and the C7 Engine Control system.



On completion of this module, participants will be able to:



Topics covered include 3116/3126 MUI features, identifying components, systems operation, testing and adjusting and troubleshooting using the supplied handout and service literature and the C7 HEUI Engine Control System.



 



 



 



PREREQUISITES: All participants should be familiar with the service, repair & maintenance of Caterpillar engines.

Name the key MUI Fuel System components. Identify 3116/3126 Fuel System components and explain their function. Perform an Injection Syncronisation procedure. Troubleshoot Basic Engine Faults using supplied handout. Name the Individual componets of the Turbocharger and describe their function. Troubleshoot Basic Turbo faults using the supplied handout. Understand C7 HEUI Control features and Sensor Checks and Electronic Technician Program.
