3. Introduction of 5i Series Distributed Intelligent Automatic Fire Detection and Alarm system 5i series fire detection and alarm product is an advanced intelligent fire information integrated solving and control system which includes two types controllers (JB-QB-5Li and JB-QB-5Si) and various bus line devices. It is an convienent and reliable intelligent control device for fire detection, alarm and linkage operation which has get China Shenyang Test Center’s Approval. It complies with GB4717-93 “Standard Technical Condition for Fire Alarm Controller” and GB16806-97 “Standard Technical Condition for Fire Linkage Operation Controller”. Its main advantages include: small dimension, big alarm capacity, fire alarm and linkage operation integration, compound bus line and non-polarity. It is easy for system design, wiring and installation. The controller can be solely used for fire detection and alarm application which does not have linkage operation requirement. Or the controller can be solely used for fire linkage operation application which does not have fire alarm requirement. The system and devices can provide various buildings with complete fire detection, alarm and linkage operation control.



3.1 5i Series Intelligent Automatic Fire Detection and Alarm system includes following devices: 3.1.1 Fire Alarm Controller ( Linkage Operation Type)(Model:JB-QB-5Li) JB-QB-5Li type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) is installed in the fire station center. It adopts big wall-mounted form which integrates the functions of fire alarm, fire linkage operation, fire broadcast, fire telephone and fire extinguishing. The customer can make a choice according

The basic function of data collection card is collect various fire information of detection points and send out start-stop signal which control module according to program requirement.



●Bus line linkage operation card The basic function of bus line linkage operation card is control various bus line linkage operation points manually and show various bus line linkage operation devices’ feedback information. ●Multi-line linkage operation card The basic function of multi-line linkage operation card is monitor and control various multi-line linkage operation points manually and show various multi-line linkage operation devices’ feedback information. ● Gas Extinguishing control card The basic function of gas extinguishing control card is monitor and control various fire zones’ action feedback information. ● Bus line fire telephone communication system Fire telephone communication system is installed in the fire control station center. Master machine is connected with sub-telephone or telephone connector. When fire occurs, the staff of fire control station center can make a telephone with on-spot persons via master machine and get further fire information.

●Fire accident broadcast system



Fire accident broadcast system is installed in the fire control statation center. When fire occurs, the broadcast system will send out fire information and inform all persons in fire accident region leave the place immediately. Fire accident broadcase system comprises speaker, amplifier and 5Li linkage type fire alarm controller.



3.1.2 Fire Alarm Controller (Linkage Operation Type)(Model:JB-QB-5Si) JB-QB-5Si type fire alarm controller (linkage operation typer) is installed in the fire control station center, which combines fire alarm function and fire linkage operation function. It has a built-in high powerful microprocessor and big-capacity data memory. All bus line devices second-programming and fire chain start-stop programmes can be conducted through on-site programming.

3.1.3 Colourful Graphic Display System(Model:TX5i)



Colourful picture Graphic system is installed in the fire control station center. It can show alarm zone, alarm detector’s physical position and relevant fire fighting linkage operation devices’ operation condition via graphic method. When the zone in question occurs fire, alarm signal will be sent to colourful graphic display dsystem via JB-QB-5i type fire alarm controller (linkage opertion type) and the plan sheet of relevant zone will be shown in the display. Device sheet icon of alarm point will change colours to be flashed and shown in the monitoring sheet in order to let operator more clearly understand fire condition. This system includes following devices: ● One Intel 586 Computer,together with mouse and keyboard ●14″Colourful display ●Multimedia and Printer (optional) ●One set specialized software



3.1.4 Fire Display Panel/Repeater(Model:FXP5i)



Fire display panel is installed various fire protection zones or main road of every floor in the building which is covenient for staff to observe relevant fire alarm or detector fault etc condition. When fire alarm system detects alarm or detector occurs fault, the fire alarm controller will make an analysis towards feedback information from detector. After fire or fault is confirmed, it will immediately send out relevant chain control. At the same tiem, the fire alarm controller send out fire or fault information to zone repeater. After zone repeater receives accident information and makes a judgement and confirms it is a zone accident information. The repeater can both display alarm condition (fire alarm or fault) and alarm point’s detailed position/address.



3.1.5 Central power source or external control power source (Model:POW5i)



Central Power source is an important part of fire alarm and fire fighting linkage operation system. 5i wall-mounted type fire alarm system itself is equipped iwht

low-capaity central power source (JB-QB-5Si 24V,2A ;JB-QB-5Li 24V,6A). When the system’s power usage is relatively lower, it can adopt this kind of power source. When the system’s power usage is relatively higher, the fire alarm system should be equipped with POW5i type central power source. This power source can be installed in the carbinet type or table type control system. It can also separately adopt wall-mounted form. It is an integrated specialized power source serving for fire alarm and linkage operation control system.

3.2 Central monitoring and chained control function which can be implemented by JB-QB-5i intelligent automatic fire alarm system: 3.2.1 Automatic fire alarm system When fire occures, detectors which are distributed in various floors will send out fire signal. After JB-QB-5i type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) receives fire signal and get confirmation, it will immediately send out action command program to various fire fighting devices under the automatic condition.



3.2.2 Sprinkler System When it occures fire and heat reaches to preset temperature of sprinkler head, the sprinkler system starts operation and at the same time both water flow meter and pressure switch send out fire signal in turn. JB-QB-5i type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) receives fire signal and make confirmation. After that, sprinkler pump will be immediately activated under the automatic condition.



3.2.3 Hydrant System There is a hydrant button in the hydrant. After it occures fire, we can use hydrant and at same time we push down hydrant putton. On the one hand fire pump can be primed directly. On the other hand, after fire alarm controller receives signal, it will immediately send out alarm signal and indicate physical position of action button.



3.2.4 Ventilation System When it occures fire, fire alarm controller receives fire signal and make confimation. After that, it will initiate ventilation fans and open accident floor and its smoke ventilation valve of next and previous floors. After the fire is blow out, it should first stop smoke ventilation fan, then close smoke ventilation valve which is carried out manually.



3.2.5 Pressured Air-blow System



When it occures fire, it should initiate air-blow fan and open accident floor and air-blow valve of next and previous floors to make air pressured in the front room of lifter and stair room, which can prevent smoke air from penetrating to ensure that the air is fresh. After the fire is blow out, it should fire stop air-blow fan then close air-blow valve which

is carried out manually. 3.2.6 Non fire fighting system When it occures fire, non-fire fighting system should be cut off automatically.



3.2.7 Fresh air conditioner system



When it occures fire, relevant fresh air conditioners should stop operating.



3.2.8 Fire Telephone System



When it occures fire, according to fire information, person in the fire control station center can make a telephone communication with sub-phone machine via fire telephone system and let relevant persons make direct communication with central control room.



3.2.9 Accident Broadcast System



When it occures fire, background music of accident floor and next and previous floor will be switched into accident broadcast.



3.2.10 Lifer Chained Control When it occures fire, fire lifter will immediately come to first floor for preparation. Note: Because different regions have different fire fighting stipulation and practices, in the physical design, fire detection and alarm system will comply with regional fire fighting rules and regulations in question.

JB-QB-5i type Fire Alarm Controller (Linkage Type) Features and Software Function 3.3.1 Display panel of Central JB-QB-5i can display whole system data and information, such as detector condition information

address number, external devices’ registered numbers, detector alarm and fault, fire fighting linkage operation start-stop condition, data and time display etc. 3.3.2 Various linkage operation control devices, such as water pump, air conditioner, fire resistant door, smoke ventilation valve and etc can be iniated and stopped manually through the button located in the panel of bus line linkage operation card or multi-line linkage operation card of JB-QB-5i fire alarm controller. 3.3.3 This system sets up three-level operation grades: 1) First level operation can implement silence function and cannot carry on other any operations towards the controller. 2) Second level operation can implement reset, screen-scrolling querying and fire linkage operation function. 3) Thrid level operation can implent menu operation towards the controller. High-level operation non-permit low-level operation user entrance and it is compatible with lower-level operation. This system controls second- and third-level operation authority via passward.



3.3.4 This system’s software, data and programming output can be carried out by the button in the panel of JB-QB-5i. After the system is input and at the same time main power source has fault and back-up power source is cut off, all the date will not be lost. In addition, when the partial function of software need to modify, operator can enter into menu and make necessary modification via the button located on the panel of JB-QB-5i. And other parts of whole system can work as usual and will not be influenced by that action.



3.3.5 Address of detector is all coded on the detector head via specialized coder. Its base is used for fixing detector head and providing electric contact. When the detector is fault and need to change, we just need to take down detector and change new detector head according its code. 3.3.6 This system can store over 500 pcs black box information which can be queried according to time turn. The information will not be lost when the power is off or close the machine.

JB-QB-5Li Type Fire Alarm Controller (Linkage Operation Type) 1、General ● JB-QB-5Li type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) adopts big wall-mounted form. It is a fire fighting control device which combines fire alarm and fire fighting linkage operation function. It has a big dimension, high clear and blue back-lit LCD display screen. Whole Chinese graphic windows menu operation provides the customers with a simple, clear and convenient feeling of usage. It addes more multi-line direct output external control contacts and is equipped with corresponding button switch. Even under the invalid condition of CPU, it can also implement control operation towards external control devices. Alarm capacity is 250 monitoring points per loop which includes linkage operation points. This type of controller can have 12 loops at maximum and the monitoring points will reach 3000. This controller can meet big project’s requirement.

4、Application and Installation 4.1 Control system relevant devices’ design and systematic diagram: 4.1.1 Standard Alarm Control System Wall-mounted JB-QB-5Li type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) can have 12 loops and monitor 250 alarm points and linkage operation points per loop. When one loop has n branches, the total amout of alarm point and linkage operation point cannot exceed 250 points. This is to say, when system’ s total amount of alarm point and linkage operation point exceeds 250 points, it should use another loop.

Explanation:



1、 In this system, bus line control module itself does not need external control power source. If controlled device’s action doesn’t need 24V power souce, then wiring of bus line module only need T+ and T-.



2、 According to China National Standard GB16806-97 “Standard Technical Condition for Fire Fighting Control Device” and relevant rules & regulations, in this diagram, with regard to important fire fighting devices, such as fire pump, sprinkler pump, smoke extracting fan, positive-pressure air fan etc, it is better to use multi-line direct output contact control. Trough multi-line linkage operation control card of the controller, it can realize point-to-point manual operation and display. Each 16 multi-line linkage operation points is equipped with one multi-line linkage operation card. If the function is realized through adopting control module in the bus line, then QK5i type switching controller’s signal should be connected with alarm bus line. Other conditions are same. The controller’s multi-line linkage operation card’s panel layout is defined as

follows. 3、 When JB-QB-5Li fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) is combined with bus line linkage operation module, it should be equipped with bus line linkage operation card in order to realize point-to-point manual operation and display. Each 16 linkage operation points is equipped with one operation card. When one external control device makes action, the controller receive controlled device’s action feeback signal via remote control module which is displayed on the control panel in order to let operator confirm device’s action condition. Panel layout of controller bus line linkage operation card is defined as follows. Under automatic/manual control condition, it can realize follwing logic functions. a)



Or Logic Control: When any one detector or any two detectors of one group alarm, then corresponding device is activated.



b)



And Logic Control:When any one detector of one group alarms and any one detector of another group alarms simultaneously , then corresponding device is activated.

4.1.2 Gas Extinguishing Control System When JB-QB-5Li type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) is equipped with gas extinguishing control card etc, it can be used as gas extinguishing controller. The basic function of fire extinguishing controller is descripted as follows: the controller monitors all smoke detectors, heat detectors and bus line control modules in gas extinguishing zones. When it occures fire accident in the gas extinguishing zone, according t preset logic relationship, the controller controls bus line modules in order to let fans, doors and windows close and at the same time send out gas extinguishing control zone in question

pre-alarm or fire confirmaton signal towards fire extinguishing control card. Then fire extinguishingcontrol card controls relevant zone’s pre-alarm bell action or sends out initiating signal toward gas manual control box. Then gas manual control box controls audible and visible sounder action. After 30-second delay, it send ut action command to gas cylinder head valve and door lamp. At this time fire extinguishing system starts to extinguish fire and door lamp will display “ Fire Extinguishing, No Entrance” alarm signal. After the cylinder head valve is acted, gas pressure switch will send out feedback information to gas manual control box. Then gas manual control box sends out the information to fire extinguishing control card and initiating response lamp of fire extinguishing card becomes light. ● Systematic Diagram ● Gas fire extinguishing system diagram is defined as following in figure 3

Gas fire extinguishing control card itself is not combined with detector. One gas fire extinguishing control card can control four fire extinguishing zones. Fire Telephone Control System



The structure of fire telephone control system is integrated with JB-QB-5Li typefirealarm controller (linkage operation type), which is installed in the carbinet of wall-mounted type.Detailed combination and application method is refered to the charter of “ Fire Telephone Controller”.



4.1.4 Fire Accident Broadcast System After it occurs fire accident, fire accident broadcast system is an important device in the fire control center to organize, command and evacuate persons in order form. After the fire accident, in order to avoid man-made anxious which can interrupt normal order and have an impact on evacuation, it should send out alarm signal within minimal range. In high building, when it occures fire, it should first initiate accident floor’s and next and previous floor’s broadcast and organize people to evacuate oderly. Fire Accident Broadcast ● In the function and structure area, fire accident broadcast system belongs to JB-QB-5Li type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) alarm control system. This system comprises of speaker, amplifier, alarm controller and broadcast control module. ● Broadcast system wiring diagram is refered to Figure 1. ● Relevant Devices 1) Bus line linkage operation control card In order to realize broadcast control module’s point-to-point manual operation, broadcast control system should be equipped with bus line linkage operation control card. One bus line linkage operation control card can control 16 pcs broadcast control

modules.According to using amount of broadcast control modules, the user can decide to bus line linkage operation control card usage quantities. 2) Broadcast Mixed Amplifier Mixed Amplifier is built in JB-QB-5Li type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type), which is integrated with fire alarm controller in the structure aspect. The calculation of power amplifier is based on the condition of three floors initiation simultaneously at maximum. Standard configuration is 150W, 120V output. Other figurations include: 120/180W, 120V; 120/250W, 120V output. It is equipped with a microphone play audio frequency singnal. It can also put pre-recorded tape into tape carbinet for emergency useage.



3) Broadcast Horn Broadcast horm is ancillary product for fire fighting broadcast system. The optional structures include wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted. Output power is 3W. According to broadcast power amplifier output mode, audio frequency will select its transportation method. The configuration and installing dimension of ceiling-mounted horn is shown as following in Figure 17.

If speaker quantity is not exceeding 15 pcs per broadcast zone or one floor, it can be controlled by one control module. If the quantity is exceeding 15 pcs, it can be solved by using several modules which have same number. Wiring diagram is shown as following in Figure 8. TT+

The height of controller installation should be in the center of eye view. Both sides of controller should have more than half an meter’s space for operation and maintenance usage. JB-QB-5SiType Fire Alarm Controller (Linkage Operation Type) 1、General ● JB-QB-5Si type fire alarm controller (linkage operation type) adopts wall-mounted form, which has fire alarm, fire fighting linkage operation and single zone gas fire extinguishing control function simultaneously. It adopts full Chinese version LCD display and its menu operation adopts full Chinese graphic windows, which provide the customer with a simple, clear and convenient usage. It has six sets multi-line direct output external control contacts which is equipped with corresponding button switches. Even under the condition of CPU invalidness, it can implement operation towards external control devices. Alarm controller can be connected with 5i type detector or 3100 type detector. But these two types detectors cannot be used simultaneously. The capacity is defined as follows: 5i type detector can have 240 addresses which include linkage operation points; analog type detector can have 150 addresses which include linkage operation points.
