NARRATIVE TEXT 1. Definition of narative text Narrative text is a text that have meaningful sequence of events told in words. There are many kinds of narrative text such as fiction, tales, folktale, fable, and legenda. The function of narrative text is to entertain the reader/ listener. 2. Social function

3. The Generic Structure a. Orientation (beginning or introduction) This part is consisted of introduce main characters, setting, and time. b. Complication (middle) The problem in the story developed c. Resolution The problem is solved d. Reorientation (ending) This part is the ending of the story. (happy ending or sad ending) 4. Language Features a. Using of simple past tense b. The first person (I, we) or the third person (he, she, they). c. Using time conjuction : once upon a time, one day, in far far away.

Group Work!  Elaborate the story of Cinderella based on the pictures given  Discuss with your friends the outline of a story you can make based on the flow of the pictures  Pay attention to the text organization, grammar used in  Revised your draft, asked the teacher if necessary  After you finished make the story, read the story via video.



Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Cinderella.



Cinderella was treated very badly by her stepmother and step sister’s.



But her mother and step sister did not allow Cinderella to come because they were jealous of Cinderella's beauty, as a result she was locked up at home alone.



The train that will take Cinderella to the palace has also been prepared.



She lived with her stepmother and two step sister.



One day a party will be held at the palace to find a partner for the prince.



Suddenly came the fairy godmother who helped Cinderella to prepare by providing a beautiful dress.



Then the fairy godmother casts a spell that will help Cinderella and the consequences that must not be broken by her.



Cinderella remembered the consequences told by the fairy godmother, she came home in a hurry and left a glass shoe.



Cinderella came and danced with the prince and make the prince fascinated.



After the prince gets the glass slipper Cinderella left, he intends to find Cinderella by using a foot size that matches the glass slipper.



The prince managed to find the owner of the shoe ,then the prince brought Cinderella to the palace and decided to marry and live happily ever after.
