REGULATION 5.1.9 - SAFETY Philosophy and Concept



58. Safety precautions and instructions are published in MINDEF policy and required by government legislation. Within maintenance publications and instructions, warnings and cautions are provided to ensure safety of personnel and protection of equipment during particular maintenance processes. Every person involved in maintenance is responsible not only for their own safety, but also the safety of subordinates and others within the workplace. This regulation requires that AMOs comply with all safety requirements authorised by DGTA and the relevant AEO. www.dgta.gov.my

The AMO shall establish, document, implement, maintain and continually improve an integrated Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the OSH Legal Requirements and ICAO standard requirements. The AMO shall define and document the scope of its SMS.

SMS Requirement to the AMO/AEO The commitment of the AMO to complete the following three (3) steps: 







The AMO must have a Policy Statement on Occupational Safety and Health;(Sect 16) OSH Planning, Implementation, Verification and reviewing (including proactive measures of Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Determining of control (HIRADC) , Safety & Health Awareness and Operation Control training, establishment of SH objectives, SH Committee or workgroup , SH work instructions and OSH MS auditing) on organization OSH MS .(Sect 17 & 18)
