Survey Master Quick Guide

1 Introduction Survey Master 2016(SM 2016)is a professional Android-based surveying software developed by ComNav. With its User-friendly interface with smart menus, objects and graphics, you can collect field data through Topo survey/Auto survey, Static and PPK, also enter, edit and stake points/lines. Moreover, Survey Master provides a convenient way to import/export surveying data files.

1.1 Installation environments Download the latest version via: http://ignss.net:9105/ and Survey Master only can be worked in Android operating system. The android device should be better than the parameters list bellow: CPU: core 2.1GHz(currently support ARM cortexonly)  Android System version: ≥4.2 Screen: 4.5 inches Screen resolution: 960*640 Hardware: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi/GPRS Tips: Please keep Bluetooth on your phone opened, so that Survey Master and T300 receiver can connect successfully.

1.2 User Interface Survey Master has user-friendly interfaces, which provide you a convenient and effective surveying experience. There are three main interfaces listed bottom of the screen, each interface has the user manager on the top-left corner and the system option on the top-right corner, the project name in the middle. The figure is shown below:

2 Receiver configuration This chapter describes how to build a new project, coordinate selection and receiver configuration.

2.1 Select the coordinate system Click to build a new project and select predefined (or add the user defined) coordinate system.

5

Survey Master Quick Guide

2.2 Set the receiver as a base After building/choose a new project with the proper coordinate, switch to the Device interface, click -> choose Base as the work mode -> click Connect button -> choose the serial number of the receiver to complete the connection. To configure the receiver, You can click the top-right button .The following figures show an example of Base configuration with internal radio transmission. Tips: If you are failed to connect the receiver through Survey Master, you’d better to restart the receiver or Survey Master software.

6

2.3 Set the receiver as a Rover Configure the device as a rover is similar as the base, select Rover as the work mode. For internal radio, you should enter the same frequency as the base. Then the current status on the bottom will change from Single to Fixed.

2.4 Information Display After getting fixed solution, click buttons in device info to check the information of satellites, devices, position coordinate and the distance from rover to base. All information is displayed below:

3 Collect field surveying data In the survey interface, you can collect surveying data through Topo/Auto, static and PPK survey mode.

3.1 Topo survey/Auto Survey

Click Topo Survey ->click the

-> enter point name

to start or stop collecting data.

Quickly change the measuring time by clicking the number below

.

The measured points will show on the screen, you also can modify settings in survey setting. Point coordinates and status will be shown below (swipe left on the screen to switch to satellites page).

Precision settings should be higher than RTK fixed precision Save fixed point:only fixed points can be saved into memory. the default offset warning is 0.05m, which will alarm if significant offset.

Survey Master Quick Guide

For Auto survey, it can support automatic and continuous survey, the survey setting is same as Topo survey.

3.2 Stake points/lines Click Stake point in survey interface -> click -> select library choose to add stake points -> long press the point to start to stake. You also can Enter or Import points for staking.

Survey Master 2016 provides a navigation map when staking points/lines. Click to change survey setting, stake setting or stake point library. If you are close the target point enough, it will alarm you based on the alarm range you set. Then click -> change stake point name -> click to completestaking. Tip: keep your receiver vertical to the ground.

3.3 Site calibration/Grid Reset 3.3.1 Site calibration Site calibration is commonly needed once in one project, and all the points will be collected according to calibrated datum system. 1. Click Element to enter at least three known points (K1,K2,K3) 2. After setting the base and rover successfully, move the rover to measure all the control points, A1, A2, A3 in the following example.

3. Click Site Calibration in Survey interface -> click measured points in pair (K1->A1, K2->A2,K3->A3) .

to add known points and

confirm to replace datum. the value of H.Resid and V.Resid should meet the requirement (H.Resid ≤ 0.015m, and V.Resid ≤ 0.02m)

3.3.2 Grid Reset Grid reset function is applied when you need to change the position of base station. Click Grid Shift in Survey interface -> add current base point and target base point (A1, K1 in the following example) -> Click Compute ->

to complete grid shift.

4 PPK and Static survey Survey Master provides multiple choice of survey methods for users, and the following sections provide a brief introduction of PPK and static survey.

4.1 static survey Static survey is commonly applied for control points, which requires millimeter accuracy.

Click Static in survey interface -> enter settings -> Click Start record , the recorded raw data will be saved in the corresponding path. The raw data is in .cnb format, you can transfer to RINXE format through CRUsoftware.

4.2 PPK PPK (post processing kinetic) is the unique function of survey master, which is used for post-processing dynamicmeasurements. 1. Click PPK in survey interface -> PPK file manager -> click to create a PPK file -> Enter file name -> long press the file’s name to open the PPK file. 2. Go to PPK setting, configure PPK settings based on your requirements. 3. To get stable epoch, click to initialize -> to start PPKsurvey.

5 Data Export/import With import/export functions, you can import and export any survey data, files and stake points/lines more fluently.

5.1 Quick import Click Quick Import in project interface -> select File type -> Click Path to add files.

15
