Although Trane recognizes and respects the decision by the U.S. Green Building Council to mandate a default assumption of a 2% Refrigerant Leakage Rate (Lr) for all manufacturers of centrifugal chillers, the value used in the calculations for achieving Energy and Atmosphere Credit 4 of LEED-NC (version 2.2), Trane has exhaustively documented and guarantees a low 0.5% leak rate for HCFC-123 CenTraVac centrifugal chillers (models CVHE, CVHF, and CVHG). This documented 0.5% refrigerant leakage rate, as well as our average 1.7 Lb/Ton refrigerant charge, are just some examples of Trane's commitment to safeguarding the environment.
