A. Definisi Future Continuous Tense Future continuous tense merupakan bentuk kata kerja yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian yang akan/sedang berlangsung pada suatu waktu dimasa yang akan datang dengan keterangan waktu yang spesifik. B. Fungsi Future Continuous Tense 1.



Menyatakan kejadian yang sedang berlangsung pada suatu waktu di masa yang akan datang menggunakan keterangan waktu yang spesifik Contoh: a.



at 8 o’clock in the morning



b. at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon c.



at seven o’clock tonight, etc



Perhatikan contoh di bawah ini: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to tell you that Merak dance will be performing at seven o’clock, and our famous singers will be singing their songs at eight o’clock. Contoh diatas merupakan salah satu contoh penggunaan future continuous tense. Pembawa acara memberitahukan kejadian apa saja yang nantinya akan berlangsung pada waktu tertentu di masa depan. 2.



Menyatakan kejadian yang sedang berlangsung di masa yang akan datang ketika ada kejadian lain yang juga terjadi di masa yang akan datang.



C. Rumus Future Continuous Tense Berikut ini merupakan rumus atau pola kalimat dari Future Continuous Tense : Subject + will/shall + be + present participle (verb-ing) + complement Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it. Will  Digunakan untuk I, you, we, they, she, he, it. Shall  Digunakan untuk I dan we.

D. Future Continuous Tense Negatif Ciri utama dari bentuk kalimat ini adalah adanya not yang terletak diantara will/shall dan be. Rumus: Subject + will/shall + not + be + present participle (verb-ing) + complement

Future Continuous Tense Interogatif Ciri utama dari bentuk kalimat ini adalah adanya will/shall yang terletak di awal kalimat sebelum subject. Rumus: Will/shall + Subject + be + present participle (verb-ing) + complement Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it. Will  Digunakan untuk I, you, we, they, she, he, it. Shall  Digunakan untuk I dan we.

Future Continuous Tense dan Simple Present Tense Biasanya bentuk kata kerja future continuous tense digunakan bersamaan dengan simple present tense.
