PACE OUTBOUND TRAINING Outbound Training - OBT Training or Outbound Learning is a training method for enhancing individual, team performance through experiential learning methodology where participants are involved into outbound training activities and outbound training games that give a immersive learning experience and bring out variety of learning outcomes based on the participants and organisational learning needs.



Centre for management studies and research MBA, P.A College of engineering, Mangalore had a conducted a one day(20/02/2020) outbound training program at Tree park, Tannirubavi beach Mangalore to improve leadership, communication skills, planning, change management, delegation, teamwork, and motivation. Participants were divided into teams and assigned tasks or activities for completion in a specified time.



AIM: The Outbound Training program is aimed at helping students explore the important elements. Activity 1-Blind fold: Two members from each team is selected and one selected as the instructor and another participant is bind-folded. A maze was created and instructor had to guide the blindfolded person to the target.



Outcome:  Communication  Trust Building  Collaboration Activity 2-Treasuer hunt: Faced with a variety of recreational and puzzle based challenges that will require teamwork, problem solving, communication and collaboration, teams will be challenged to unlock the clues and crack the codes that will lead them to the ultimate prize. The Treasure!



One by one teams will work their way through each challenge that is presented to them, drawing on each other’s strengths in order to succeed. Outcomes: After undergoing the training the participants will be able to: • Enhance Team Bonding, Communication and Trust among each other. • Understand and work on areas of Teamwork and Collaboration.



Activity 3-Balloon Race: Two teams participate and race. Balance balloon between each other and walk in a line,then complete the race competing with each other.



Outcome:  Partnership between two people working closely together during the activity.  Communication in making decisions about team roles.  Coordination and use of gross motor skills Activity 4 – Brick Race: Two teams race with each other wherein emphasis is laid on team collaboration and communication. A team of 3 members were given 4 bricks where they had to reach the finish line using strategies and tricks to avoid stepping on the ground.



Outcome:  Team support



 



Innovation and creativity Experiential Learning with Adventure and Team Building Activities.



Activity 5-Tug of war: The final goal for every team is to build a masterpiece out of the item. Build two equipollent teams and let them compete with each other! This team building exercise involves brute strength from each side in order to pull the tug war rope.



Effectiveness of Outbound Training  Helps in improving the teamwork abilities.  Leadership qualities get enhanced  Help in resolving intra-group or personal conflicts  Nourishes the interpersonal skills  Nurtures the personal and intergroup relations  Improves the Communication Skills  Better partnerships and alliances



Students and all the faculty members were provided with lunch and high tea.
