Notes 1. If ambient conditions results in moisture over the material /below 10°C, it shall be heated to 500C, otherwise preheat not required. 2. Above Mentioned Passes may vary depending on actual thickness of the joint. 3. Wherever possible, bridge / bar tacks shall be used for tacking. The P Number of bridge / bar shall be P1. The bridge / bar material shall be removed by grinding. 4. Tack welding parameters: Same as per root pass. 5. Stray arc shall be avoided. Arc strikes, if any shall be ground smooth and grounded area shall be tested with MPI. 6. Welding shall not be allowed to cool down until at least half of the wall thickness has been welded but without exceeding the inter pass temperature recorded on PQR 7. Prior to the welding, all surfaces shall be thoroughly cleaned from oxides, scale, oil or other foreign matters and to be in dry condition. The cleaned surface shall be extended as least 25mm beyond the weld area. 8. Hi-Lo tolerance shall be in compliance with SHELL DEP 30.10.60.18 clause no.4.7.4.7. 9. Welding shall not be carried out when the degree of protection does not permit satisfactory workmanship. 10. During welding avoid any displacement, shock, vibration and stresses.
